The Americans

I can't believe there's only 5 episodes left this season after tonight. Much like Better Call Saul, the season has flown by.

I get the feeling that Michael kills Elizabeth making it look accidental. Stems from...Paige is not happy and she and mom continue to butt heads. Paige shares too much with Pastor and the FBI start closing in. Michael takes matters into his own hands. He and the kids will assimilate into another part of America hiding from KGB and FBI.

As in you think that's how the series will end? Because killing off Elizabeth would obviously be major.

I'm wondering if they pull a Breaking Bad on the season finale and the light bulb goes off in Stan's head that Philip and Elizabeth are spies. I haven't seen where the showrunners have said how long the series plans to go but I have to think they're aiming to wrap it up in another season or 2.

Yes, the story arc to the series conclusion.

I like the idea that Stan stumbles on some intel that leads to suspicion of his neighbors.

I agree, and that's going to be the conflict. This show is really great, it's ashame that it doesn't get more publicity. I highly advise anyone that likes this show read The Charm School by Nelson Demille. It's basically about the start of the same program. It is a page turner and then some.

I'm still thinking they're going to find something going through Martha's stuff. I'm wondering if there is a picture she had hidden away somewhere that Stan stumbles upon.

I just started watching this and binge watched the entire 1st Season yesterday and am well into the 2nd Season. So far, I'm impressed with the acting as well as the plot line.

I only wish they'd do a full 20 or 24 episode season. I think there was enough plot material to pull it off, but the flow so far has been great.

Thanks for the recommendation

This show is amazing. I can't believe it doesn't get more publicity. The acting is fantastic pretty much all around.

This and Rectify are the two best dramas out right now that get no Emmy/Golden Globe love and struggle for viewers. It's a testament to how many good shows we have now that shows like this are this good yet still can't get much recognition.

Was last night's episode the first time the audience saw Elizabeth with a guilty conscience? She set up Yung Hee's hubby and hated herself for it.

I think last night's show was my least favorite of the season.

I don't remember, but I'll say if it's not, it's the first time in a long time at least. Seems like she's starting to slip into the same place Philip is in.

Looks like next week Pastor Tim is being taken care of without Philip and Elizabeths's knowledge, and I'm betting that pushes them closer to trying to escape.

Also does anyone think it's a possibility the series ends with them flipping, i.e. becoming double agents for the US?

I could see that with Phillip more than Elizabeth. He seems more "Americanized" than her.

I just wonder because it seems like the show is moving back to making him and Stan closer, plus like you said he seems more Americanized with him teaching Paige to drive and going to the self help group. I'm thinking it may set up that he has to take Stan out and he refuses.
