The Americans

I think last night's show was my least favorite of the season.

Let me rephrase that, with the exception of seeing Elizabeth's exceptional posterior, I did not enjoy last nights episode as much as the others. I don't know, maybe it was like you said about Elizabeth destroying an actual friend's marriage. Just cold blooded. Hard to watch.
The end of the season should be amazing, I'm wondering if Pastor Tim will come back from Ethiopia, there was a heavy Soviet presence there in the late 70's and early 80's.

I respect FX a lot for sticking with this show. The ratings are rubbish but they know it's probably the best original drama on TV right now and the critics are in love with it.

Just a heads up to anyone with DirecTv both my and my parent's DVR's weren't set up to record the finale tonight. Instead it was set to record a 30 minute thing at 4 this past morning that said it was the finale.

Thanks for the heads up. That would have made me a bit ticked.

I don't understand these shows that have these specials that air really early in the morning. I've had random shows have these "specials" and they always aired at like 3 or 4 in the morning. It happened with Breaking Bad, Hell on Wheels, and I think Walking Dead even had one.

I get having a special, but I can't figure out why it comes on at such weird hours. Are they throwing a bone to the midnight shift or something?

Well. I finally got around to watching this series and my DVR recorded some 20 minute infomercial instead of the finale. The full episodes aren't available on the fx app and aren't available on Netflix either. Anyone have a suggestion.

Hulu might have it.

I'm about halfway through season 4. It's very good, but I can't agree with the critics who say it's the best drama on tv right now. Certainly not while Game of Thrones is still on the air.

i just binged through the past two seasons of it.

I certainly like it, and think its quality television, but i feel it moves at a snails pace and most episodes are rather uneventful.

it was good to binge watch it exactly for the reason listed above...

In the previews it shows Elizabeth teaching Paige how to fight. I'm going to take a big swing and probably a big miss here, but what if Paige is put in a situation where she has to choose between Pastor Phil and her parents and she's the one that ends up offing Pastor Phil. Very far fetched I know, but I'm bored at lunch.

Could happen, but I'm secretly rooting for something to happen to Paige to start them turning on the Soviets; mostly because I find Paige to be the weakest link of the show.

I'm not one to typically get geeked out about a particular scene, but the "Yellow Brick Road" scene was very interesting going forward. What a great show.

I was starting to wonder if the final season was going to be about them adjusting to being back in the USSR. Looks like they're staying put though.

They're going to get caught. The Soviet courier that was being given the lie detector test is legit. They're going to send a report on Stan, and that Soviet agent that's boinking him unwittingly convinced him to be there to recognize Phillip and Elizabeth...of course she was only trying to make her spy work worth it.

I think Stan is going to be in a situation where has to choose between Phillip and Elizabeth and his FBI agent buddy or vice versa.

I thought this season was a little boring especially the time spent in Nebraska looking into the super bugs/ wheat and the time spent on the Russian grocery store fraud. Stan has become annoyingly oblivious. Hopefully, next season will be better and Phillip and Elizabeth face a little more drama.
