can we finally put it to rest that the commentators on fox are some sort of racist right wing republicans? only a democrat could be that happy about obama winning. sure the money behind fox news is right wing, but it's impossible to find a republican anchor in this world.

I dont see how you can look at this election and not think racism. I hope Obama does a excellent job, but its hard to overlook the fact that ppl are turning out in record numbers. Of those record numbers there is a vast increase in African American voters. For a Historic Election, an Enormous Turnout - WSJ.com

why would it go up so sharply? I just fear alot of people voted for him for one reason and one reason only...the color of his skin. You could argue that alot of people voted against him because he was black, but this is a much less number espically when looking at the key states like California, Florida, NY, etc.

I just wish people would chill out. I am sick of hearing the "Yes we can" How bout we look at the real issues the next president faces, not about what color his dang skin is. IMO, most people vote without being intelligent.

Can we at least put to rest this theory that racism is the largest problem in this country? if a socialist black man named barrack hussein obama running on a campaign of income redistribution can win with a majority of the votes, this country is not filled with racists.

Here are two questions for you. What percentage of registered American voters are African-American? What percentage of voters cast their ballot for Obama?

I'm pretty sure Obama won based on people realizing the biggest issues in this country are healthcare, foreign policy, and the economy. And people like Obama's plans better than McCain's.

The only people bringing up racism are Republicans looking for some blame.

Im not implying that white americans did not vote for him. I am just stating the the african american vote went up sharply this election.

And I'm saying the increase of the African-American vote did not win him the election.

how so? I don't think obama won because he was black, but it certainly didn't HURT him (as most people on the left said it would).

I'd say racism takes place on both sides. I didnt see Jesse Jackson bawling his eyes out on tv when Slick Willy was elected.

I really think this can be a moment in American history when race issues can be placed in the back of our mind. People voted for Obama because they believe in his platforms on the issues. And if the left was concerned about race early on, the election results should clearly show that Americans as a whole have moved past race as a driving/dividing issue.

Jackson is horrible. I bet you $10000000 that if the tv cameras weren't there there wouldn't be any tears. Obama isn't his kind of black man (which is a good thing).

I agree 100% except that I don't think people voted for obama because of his platforms. I think they voted for him because bush made them hate the republican party.

anyone else see Oprah out there, there's another ding dong

yeah..thats what gets under my skin. Ppl like her is what urks me. With all that said, I am sure you have plenty of dumb rednecks that did not vote for Obama cause he is black.

Take just a brief second, if you can, and put yourself in the shoes of an African-American person. Aside from the politics, there must be a sense of overwhelming pride that white people can't relate to.

I believe that the majority of white racists in this country are older southerners...and it wont be long till they die off...then all we will have is a few pockets of people out there raised by the older southerners.I think it's about the same for black racists as well.
