1. That's how you put an opponent away. They tried to come back, and Tennessee put on more steam to seal the game. Solid win tonight.

2. That first half was the best performance of the year for Tennessee. That was incredible basketball from them.

3. I love the decision to run with Arkansas in the first half. Totally surprised Arkansas and the team came out with incredible intensity and energy. Great call by Coach Martin.

4. This team does have a major issue. Way too much passing around the perimeter against a zone. You have to attack it. There was no dribble penetration, and they didn't go to the high post.

5. Good game by Jarnell. Nice to see him go 4-6 from the line. They are looking better.

6. I hope that nothing Kenny Hall did was major, and that this was a message sender moreso than anything else. We need Kenny, and Kenny needs to understand he has a unique opportunity and cannot afford to screw it up. You only get so many chances.

7. Jordan McRae has played much better, but we still need him to be aggressive in the second half. He had a couple attacks, but he needs to keep up the intensity.

8. Very nice win. Great way to start the game and keep it up. The team is starting to hit stride, and the players have completely bought in to what Coach Martin is selling. Saturday is a major, major game for the team's NCAA chances.

9. Having all 5 starters in double figures is great.

10. Glad to see Tatum show up, lets up he keeps that up.

11. What more can you say about McBee, he is playing great right now.

12. Shot 56% for the entire game, and 47.8% on 3's.

Here's hoping we get Kenny Hall back in a reasonable amount of time. Also hoping Golden doesn't have any lingering effects from ankle injury tonight, seemed like it was just minor.

Great team win, everyone played well. Awesome that we're finally getting guard play, surprise, surprise, we're winning.

It's official, the post-Pearl dry spell is over. With only Tatum and Woolridge gone after this year, I see us staying competitive to a level at least comparable to the last 4 years.

That was a great and maturely played game.

Enjoyed the game watched it from start to finish. First one I haven't had to miss a few minutes here or there in a while. We look amazing.

Really nervous about @Bama...seems like always has been a tough place to play for us.

Only bit I disagree with, but only because there was SOME, though not nearly enough, dribble penetration. Certainly still don't know how to attack a zone.

When I saw the replay it scared the heck out of me. Looked like a classic high ankle sprain. ELATED that he came back.....shweew!!

Arkansas made a little run in the second half, ran out of gas, and just laid down. The Vol defense was dominant again tonight, and it appeared that the Hogs just gave up with about 4-5 minutes remaining.

There are times when a few folks get a little out of control, especially on fast breaks, but overall the team is starting to really gel. No one is looking forward to playing this team. They are extremely physical and love to play defense while at the same time the offense is starting to become more consistent and the turn overs are finally starting to go down.

Really is good to see Jordan McRae discover an ability to take the ball to the basket. That is an element that has really been missing from his game. Tonight, he really utilized it, and it delivered immediate results.

McBee is playing like we all hoped he could when he arrived. His defense is even tolerable lately. If he shoots consistently like he has recently, we can give up his defense for offense exchange. He knows his role and stays within it. If Tatum, who played well tonight outside of his 3-point %, could learn to do the same, he wouldn't be such a net-negative on the floor.

Golden was ultra-efficient tonight, even on a bum wheel for much of the second half.

Stokes and Maymon were efficient as well despite limited touches for both because of Arky's zone defense.

You're right, there was some, but often times it came too late in the shot clock and they had to kick it out for a rushed jumper or throw up a contested shot in the paint to avoid the shot clock.

They need to attack the zone earlier in the clock and leave options to kick out and reset if the shot isn't there in the lane.

I agree with point 1. Arkansas tried to creep back into it, but our guys halted that and then built the lead. That shows composure, coaching, and trust IMO.

To add to #4: this has been a glaring concern for the past 10 games when EVERY team decided to zone us. However, there were 3 or 4 specific plays that Cam, Golden, Richardson, and/or Jordan were able to penetrate from the wing and break the zones. I will grade it a B for Better but def not B for good/strong. Another thing i noticed that i had not seen until tonight were moves by the bigs, Stokes and Maymon both, had several plays that they were able to seal off the bottom zone defender from the basket and our guards made strong passes through the lane for open baskets. One instance for both bigs comes to mind that i really liked. Its a slow, minimal improvement but I can CCM has been working on zone offense in practice recently. Until tonight i couldnt say that...

Nice go see some game changing dunks, McRae down the lane, jarnells 2 even though the last one was called off, compete BS. And a missed ally to McRae that'd have been sick.

Team is having fun playing together an that can be a scary thing when guys start feeding off ech other, like the first half for example.

There was a point in the 2nd half when Golden was out with his ankle sprain and they really slowed it down. A couple of times they walked it across the time line at 26 on the shot clock. It was almost like Martin decided his PG might be really hurt he was going to bleed as much time as possible. When Golden came back the pace picked back up.

I noticed this, offense was completely different. I kept watching the trainer with him as I was right behind them and when he got up I was like thank god.
