The Association Football Thread

A friend got me started following them. I have a soft spot for Spurs because of a friend from London, but United are my squad.

That's fair play. I hope the Gooners get crushed. Have got it on in the background... What does the (1-4) mean next to the score?

Its the aggregate which is just the total score between the two teams over the two games. Whoever has the most goals over two legs, wins.

2-0 Arsenal. 30th minute.

Ah right! You can tell I am not experienced in this sport... Do you get our coverage with the British commentators or is it USA coverage?

I'm happy with that result.. Could have been better, but I'm just glad they did their best today.

The tournament is slowly becoming a Barcelona-Real Madrid race with Bayern playing poorly lately. I think Napoli can surprise some people if their triumvirate hits really good form through the quarterfinals.

Yeah. Lots. I used to go when they played on fake turf at the U of U's football stadium. It was horrible. 15,000 fans in a 40,000 capacity stadium makes for a dull environment, not to mention visiting teams would often rest stars to avoid injury because of the playing surface.

They got the new stadium 3 years ago (the first game was actually a playoff game, which I had box seats for) and the experience is completely different. It's a lot of fun.
i think the stadiums are the biggest reason that MLS has survived and still growing..

I do follow international soccer as well, and I am pretty sure he cheated ghana by stopping a goal with a deliberate handball. Nice point though, you really got me!

Copa America?

And if you could get you're team into the semifinals of the World Cup you wouldn't?

Did you even watch the Liverpool game?
