The Association Football Thread

Bayern Munich are the 2010 Bundeliga Champs. Still going for the other two, which are the Pokal and Champions League for the trifecta. Good luck Bayern.

Ut intramurals was great when I was there. One football once, three on three red zone twice and floor hockey twice.

Beat pikes in the finals and Fiji in semis. Fiji is a bunch of douches.

In my experience, the worst teams to play against are fraternities. They usually bring their "brothers" to piss everyone off from the opposing team. They usually play real chippy as well. They usually just beat people by physically beating the crap out of them since the refereeing is pretty terrible and relaxed.

That's my experience as well. They just bully you with the numbers of people they bring to the event. Abysmal sportsmanship as well.

Yep. we ended up winning the whole thing and Kappa Sigma was our hardest game in the quarter finals. A bunch of their members came and talked trash to everyone. I gave it right back to them though. You know me Scribbley :):)

Totally. Pretty sure you're a douche.

I don't mind the guy intimidated by frat boys on an intramural field calling me a douche.

Why don't u just play w the international students? When i was in school people took it easy on them.

Nothing more hilarious than a guy questioning someone's toughness over the internet.

Not really questioning, when he wrote it himself.

But back to the main point-world cup should be exciting, i wish i could be there in person.

Ya, you are exactly the kind of personality that ruins the spirit of intramurals. Way to go, champ. You've really put me in my place.

Not sure. I guess it's to let the teams finish up their regular seasons and then have this as a big finale before the World Cup. If that's what you were asking.

It gives teams plenty of time for rest at the end of their season and to get as healthy as possible. It's kind of set up like the Super Bowl. I actually feel like it is earlier this year than last.

It is what I was asking.

I don't think it has anything to do with the World Cup, because it was late last year. I'd think that with the World Cup going on, you would want to make it earlier.
