I don't know man, they've got a pretty good squad. I think they'll finish in the top 4.

That was very realistic before they lost Modric, and semi realistic before they lost Rafa. They have two D's and a loss in 3 games they should have won. I understand being unlucky in the first couple games, but a draw against Norwich today tells the story.

They will move Bale inside to replace the loss in the middle, and he will lose his spark (which he has already). They will then put Dempsey out wide to replace Bale, and he wont be as much of an impact out there because of his lack of pace. Lloris isn't an upgrade to the old man in net so that makes no difference.

Losing out on Joao Moutinho and having AVB as a manager are the two biggest reasons that the Spurs have a terrible year.

Agreed on avb

I didn't expect an early win at st james. That is a tall task for most sides.

Bale will stay out wide. Gylfi and dembele will comprise the middle. This squad is built on pace, while those two aren't as good as who theyre replacing, they do fit the bill better. I'd hope that dempsey would rotate with defoe and adebayor up top but coming out in such a defensive set at home against norwich is inexcusable.

If spurs don't make champions league, it will be solely on the mismanagement of avb. There is a wealth of attacking talent

I would be hoping for 6th if I was a Tottenham fan. As an Arsenal fan I am hoping for top 4, but you all aren't better than Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, or Newcastle and we are all behind Manchester.

There is even a chance that Everton will push to finish ahead of you.

They're better than Liverpool.

Built on pace? That's where you are screwed.

I thought they did end up with Moutinho. Not sure how I missed that. I didnt think they were top 4 with him but they are screwed without him.

I don't think it is fair to put it all on him.. They really just aren't good enough. I mean, what happens if Bale gets injured? You guys just don't have any cover in your key positions and it will hurt you throughout the season.

A great team wants a guy like Dembele to be the back-up to a guy like Modric. Thinking you will be a top 4 team with him playing the #10 role is a joke. Gylfi is good too, but again he's not the creative spark that you need to succeed. Which explains the ham's being stale in your first 3 games.

the PL should be scared of this. 2 stars are better than 1, IMHO.

Yep, I think Giroud will come around too. He's moving well and getting in the right spots, just hasn't found his finishing touch yet. I have a feeling it will happen when we need him the most.

few things I have noticed from this game:

1) Suarez is a twat, but we knew that
2) Diaby is an extremely smooth ball handler and looks to be a huge boost to the Arsenal squad. Glad to have him back.
3) Chamberlain seems to be lacking a bit of confidence right now, and we will need him.
4) Overall the Arsenal D looks to be one of the strongest in the league right now, and Gibbs looks to be on the fast track to becoming one of the top LB's in the PL. Steve Bould has done some amazing things with this squad, and it will be amazing to see Sagna and Koscielny in this team.

I hope so.. You can see it in his face that he doesn't believe he can score right now. He might need a tap in just to get his confidence back.

Agree with all above. Whatever they are paying Bould isn't enough. The D is much improved. Diaby gives brief flashes of Viera, it's been missed. Jenkinson looked good as well. I'm not too worried about him anymore.

Dembele will be a sub at best especially if we are switching back to a 4-4-2 which is what I assume was happening as we picked up two strikers; Defoe, adebayor and Dempsey are all worthy choices. And gylfi is still young but he very much is a #10. The kid has a feel for free kicks and shots from range, and he's displaying better creativity by the month. Lets not forget some of that sale money turned into Hugo lloris as well; spurs now have a world class player between the posts. If bale gets injured then Dempsey moves to lm. I am somewhat concerned about cb, but that's really about it

The talent on paper isn't what it was last year but everything fits better now. This club does have enough to compete for top 4, but avb is already displaying many of the same issues that plagued his brief tenure at Chelsea.

I already mentioned Lloris, but I didn't give him as much credit as you. I would say you have the same quality keeper as you have in Friedl, but now your keeper isn't about to retire.

One of the guys on press pass made a good point about aging keepers. They can still play at a high level but as they go on, the bad performances start getting peppered in more and more gradually. It's already happening with Friedel. He can match Lloris at his best, but it's happening less and less often. Round 1 at Newcastle he had some near-groaners, then against West Brom he looked a sprite 35.

But, as you mentioned, the move means Friedel is almost certain to retire at the end of the season. I don't consider Lloris the best of the best, but he is still world class -- that tier below Casillas and Neuer.

I know we're only 3 weeks in, but the table in the EPL is kind of funny looking right now. Chelsea, Swansea and West Brom are currently holding down the Champions League spots while Liverpool is in the relegation zone.
