They really don't need him and the current economic climate in Spain has lead to significantly decreased spending by clubs.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Chelsea are the only clubs with deep enough pockets to afford a talent like Bale.

Also, looked at my UCL pool, and everybody but me and one other guy has Schalke over Galatasaray. I feel pretty good about my odds of winning a cool $200.

Schalke has been in poor form lately. They might get Huntelaar back but I can't expect him to be match fit plus they have several other injuries. I haven't checked to see if Snjeider is cup tied for Gala but Drogba isn't. They field a pretty strong squad even without Snjeider.

Edit: Snjeider will play.

I think Arsenal will too. If they're smart, they'll play back and counter even though that goes against their style somewhat.

Where have the Arsenal supporters here been lately?

Istanbul is also an incredibly tough place to play for visiting sides.

I'm looking forward to the game tonight, i'm gonna predict Arsenal 2-2 Bayern. Let's hope this is a close and exciting match.

Terrible first half from Arsenal. Putting Walcott on his own up front has been a terrible decision by Wenger, he hasn't won any aerial battles and has failed to test the keeper, Giroud needs to be subbed on.

On the other hand Bayern have looked good value for their two goal lead. However they have looked a bit shaky in midfield (lucky for them the referee is having an absolute shocker).

Been surprised by the way the game has transpired. Bayern usually dominates possession but it's Arsenal who is doing so. Bayern has looked really sloppy with passing, something they're much better at. Happy with the results, though.

Disagree. Bayern looked great. They played with their food (Arsenal). Ref helped keep the score closer.

There's no way Arsenal will overturn this deficit. Bayern are even stronger at the Allianz and they won't need to risk anything with three away goals in the bag.
