Is Bale the most in form player in the world right now?

Hard to argue anyone else right now. The winner was a thing of beauty.

I certainly don't think there's an argument to be made that anybody is clearly in better form than Bale right now. Still jittery from that goal, I leapt out of my chair in the library

Ronaldo isn't going anywhere

While I'm not so certain we end up with CR7 (appears to be a PSG/United battle), he has stated he isn't happy at RM and that he wants to leave. Madrid will either sell him this summer or lose him next summer with zero compensation. Unless, of course, he agrees to a new deal. This all is according to what I read in various newspapers about a month ago.

I wouldn't rule out Anzhi either, they have been lurking around since this past summer.

Can you link me to those quotes? I hadn't heard that.

I can back up that story. Would find a link, but am on mobile. This all came out around December when he reportedly turned town a contract extension through 2018 that included a 5 million per year raise.

I heard something about a CR7-Chevy deal if he goes to United? A back door way around FFP.

I heard something about this, too, but I know no details.

I try to read the sports sections of these European newspapers daily. They offer some interesting commentary on soccer.

I'd like to see him back at United. That would be an insane attacking combo with Rooney and RvP.

Agreed. I will believe it when it happens, but it has me excited for next year. We have been lucky to keep RvP fit this year (goes and knocks on every tree in yard for luck).

Milan putting us out will likely be signaling the end to our cycle. And let's be honest, I'll be shocked if we battle back and knock Milan out. Just don't see that happening with the way we are playing.

Probably right. Defense has been crap. I don't think Messi can bail them out to the tune of a hat trick... Which is probably what it will take.

Tell em Rafa

idk what rafa's problem is...he knew exactly what he was getting into at chelsea

also, a little fun fact that i'm sure has been said: he's got the worst win percentage of any chelsea manager since RA took over...admittedly, some of that can be attributed to the fan base and transition period chelsea is going through

honestly, any manager taking over after RDM outside of maybe pep or mourinho would be going through nearly the same ridicule from the fans

bottom line: this has gotten out of control for no reason...gotta love the EPL

That has more to do with Chelsea's fan base and abramovich IMO. Winning uefa will be their high water mark, now that FFP is in full swing, I don't see Chelsea being a real contender with any consistency.
