The Association Football Thread

I was just talking in terms of buying players. First Goetze and now possibly Lewandowski. BVB has been gutted and what was setting up to be a very interesting next few seasons in the Bundesliga is looking like a cakewalk for Bayern.

Spurs certainly aren't going to qualify for CL by drawing teams that are on their way down to The Championship. Hopefully Man U can turn this game with Arsenal around and at least get a draw.

As a side note, I was looking at the Championship table to see who is likely to be coming up next season, and what the hell happened to Wolves? They were in the Premier League last year, and are going to get relegated AGAIN. The same the happened to Portsmouth a few years ago, and their freefall hasn't even finished. They're on their way down to League 2, but IIRC they had massive financial troubles which led to them being docked points in the PL, and apparently again this year. I don't recall Wolves having any financial issues, but it's odd to see a team that was in the PL just a year ago not even be able to finish outside the bottom 3 in the second tier league.

Aresenal needed this win today over ManU to stay above Chelsea. Now in 4th, a point behind Chelsea with one more game played

their game in hand is against tottenham though. I will give up third if we can secure 4th. Chelsea beating Tottenham or a draw is the best we can hope for.

I'd love to have Lewandowski but most Bayern fans, myself included, don't want to pillage Dortmund. I'm hoping that Dortmund will be able to hold onto their guys with an infusion of CL cash. I want to see the BL get stronger because it's a hell of a fun league to watch and needs better exposure in the States.

Real-Dortmund today. I expect Real to make this a nail biter of a tie, winning 3-1 but losing on aggregate.

To quote Juanito, 90 minutes at the Bernabéu is a very long time. Madrid has no choice but to come out in full attack. Should be a cracking contest.

Zu Ehren des ersten Schenkels Borussia Dortmund den Sieg bin ich in Deutsch Eingabe für diesen Beitrag. Ich erwarte, dass sie in Spanien überleben und zu fördern, um das Finale im Wembley-Stadion.

Real wasted 45 minutes and several chances. It's gone from being difficult for them to advance to taking an absolute miracle.

I beg to differ....Arsenal has played ONE more game than Tottenham....so my SPURS have the advantage with only being down 2 points and a game in hand....but good luck to the Gu.......oh hell....I hope y'all lose every game you play :)
