The Association Football Thread

What happened? I didn't get to watch.

Chich "scored" in 94', but called back for offside. Offside by half a step so legit call IMO.

However there was a ridiculous flurry in the last 10 minutes that should have yielded a few goals. Header by vidic, and some other nice shots/lucky saves by Newcastle keeper and defenders on the line.

Not to mention the horrible call for Newcastle's penalty.

I enjoy watching Arsenal play. They are such a train wreck sometimes.

You enjoy watching teams play bad? I think that is the opposite of a football fan. If you love the game you want everyone to be on their best for the entertainment.. Even if you don't particularly like them.

and Joe Hart needs to go away. Liverpool should've taken 3 points from City.

too bad they play Arsenal next so they will get their confidence back up

I was unfortunate (only from my team picking perspective) enough to visit a friend while she was in a study abroad program in England and took me to a match of the local team, which happened to be Middlesbrough. Worked out alright for me for a while but now I'm stuck hoping every year for them to claw their way back into the PL so I can actually see a game on tv, only for them to fall a place or two short of promotion.

In high school, had a female German exchange student friend, so began following DFB (German national team) and by association, because so many German internationals played for them, Bayern Munich. This was about 20 years ago, and been a fan ever since.

Doesn't hurt that Bayern is a first class organization, is sound fiscally, has great history, and Allianz Arena has an amazing gameday atmosphere. And they're usually fun to watch.
