The Atlanta Braves (thread 1)

An NBA coach at least has to deal with Xs and Os. A baseball manager pretty much just claps in the dugout and pats his pitchers on the ass when he makes pitching changes. You or I could manage the Braves and it wouldn't be that different at all.
I don't know that it's quite that easy, but I get what you are saying. More than any other sport, there are statistics for every situation and the pace of the game allows time to scheme. I don't know that the in game stuff is all that complicated, but what does get tricky is managing egos and players' workloads.

There will be a huge discussion this offseason about whom the Braves should hire to replace Cox, and the simple truth is that it doesn't really matter that much. If the Braves have the players, they'll win; if they don't, they won't.

At one time I thought that the biggest tangible benefit to Cox's masterful clubhouse management was that the Braves got to keep almost every one of their own free agents that they wanted, but now that the modern Braves are out of the top-shelf free agent business entirely, that really doesn't matter anymore.

I know the Braves are trailing, but this pitcher for the Rockies is getting away with a lot of pitches up

Everybody is going to keep throwing heat to Derek Lee until he catches up to one. His bat looks slow.

Is something wrong with Lee at the plate? He seems to be striking out alot, on fastballs.

I cant watch anymore. Have to listen on mlb at bat.
