I'm reserving my opinion, re: future Braves moves to be made. If we approach the trade deadline still in first place and best record in the NL, I think you owe it to the team and the fans to give the team the best opportunity to win it all. Does that mean trade the farm for Manny Machado? No. But I don't think you stand pat either. I would also expect AA to be very active during the post trade deadline window. Might be able to grab an impact player simply by taking a contract that their present team wants clear of, and giving back very little, if anything.

The "experts" are predicting that the 3B market is going to be saturated with more sellers than buyers...theoretically putting the Braves in a nice position to swing a deal that helps the present w/o mortgaging the future.

We need to give Riley time at some point in MLB to see if he has got what it takes.

If you want him to be a poor mans Todd Frazier, then sure. I think he needs more time to develop. You just can’t strike out that many times and have sustained success unless you want joey Gallo.

Yeah that 25% K rate is worrisome. I am really curious what AA thinks of him and how that might affect the off-season.

And like I said earlier there’s a lot worst things than a glove first third baseman with a league average bat (which Camargo is)

Lord have mercy this multiplied by a million. It’s this simple.

There is absolutely no reason to rush him.

And again, offense isn’t a problem so why even consider forcing it?

So does this mean you wouldn’t support a proven commodity via free agency?

No if we go out and get a legit at third I’m fine with that. We have money to spend. I’m more concerned ab that third OF spot for 2019 but if AA makes a run at a 3B I’m good with that too. You can use Riley as a trade piece or move him to the OF and see what’s he got it.

Bingo

Just was looking around on Folty’s fangraph page and it’s interesting: He’s walking guys more (4.32/9!) but striking guys out more by 2K/9 and really dropped the home run rate. He’s giving more soft contact and pitching outside the zone more and it’s working (guys are swinging less than 5% against him)

Jason Heyward is 6’5” 240 of sure slap and tickle. Ozzie Albies is 5’8” standing on a bible and a buck sixty five soaked and a he is a pure bonafide power deep stroker. What a world.
