That injury is the kind of thing that happens when you start ejecting people for hitting high. In the past, the defender would have just blasted Marshall in the open field. Now, with no other alternative but to go low, a guy gets his knee effed up.

No doubt. Rings especially true in the NFL.

If Georgia had forfeited this game, that wouldn't have happened.

At least in the NFL they just fine you. In college, a little bad luck where your helmet hit the other guy, even unintentionally, and you may be done for that game and possibly half of the next one. I'll be interested to see if anybody starts compiling stats on knee injuries for before and after all these rule changes.
