That's completely understandable, I don't like every sport ever invented either but, as a soccer player and fan, I don't get the impression that people who don't like drag racing tell you how stupid you are for liking it. Luckily that is less prevalent now a days but it does still happen.

I don't think soccer fans are stupid, i just don't like it. But soccer fans do seem a bit snobby, IMO. Not all soccer fans, its probably like all sports though.

Yeah, I don't think I'm guilty of that. I see the global popularity of soccer...its undeniable. I do have my doubts about the amount of traction it will ever gain here in the states, though.

I know Verc and I were referencing you earlier but that last post definitely wasn't about you, just lead into other discussions I've had with folks over the years.

That awkward moment when someone sends you a facebook message giving a quote from an author giving a diatribe about hating love and then ending it with "I figured you'd really appreciate this quote."

I'm not confident enough to predict a time frame but, with some of the concussion issues surrounding sports like football and hockey, I don't think legit traction is impossible, it just might take a few more generations.

I think it's finally hit critical mass. It's never going to beat out football [1] or basketball in US popularity, but it's already ahead of hockey, and I think in 10-20 years it'll probably (and sadly) pass baseball.

[1] (as long as football exists in a recognizable form)

Well that seems like a post designed to transport me right back to my early to mid 20s.

That might be thing that gets soccer going if football starts dying down (which is a possibility though not high). Great athletes have to play something, and not very many 5'10 corners/running backs/wideouts play basketball at the NBA level. Soccer makes the most sense.

I don't know why, but anyone under 25 that I know likes/knows the NBA better than the NFL. In East Tennessee nonetheless. Yet the NFL blows everything out of the water. I bet that changes in 20 years.

Being young and single in the social media age must be complicated as hell. Easy peasy back in my day. Except the girls were way, way less into casual/early sex than they apparently are now.

Well, I am 20, so I didn't the transportation, that's for sure.

Just meant that there were at least a few people I knew in my life around those years who probably could have sent me that same message (if Facebook existed at that time).

The biggest issue that I've seen is back even ten years ago, you didn't put your relationship issue for all the world to see. Now you can, even if it's subliminal, but everyone knows. Which causes even more problems.

And the last part just brings in more confusion too.

Wu...Dillon Bates. What's the dealyo? Any chance he pulls the rug out from under us?

Hubbs and PFort both said today they are confident he chooses UT. They never give an answer like that unless they are sure. He announces at 8 ET for thr Vols tomorrow

I definitely want Dillon Bates to be a Vol.

But I will get some sick pleasure from watching the meltdown if he doesn't.
