I saw that. It was very underappreciated

I thought so too.

Also, gotta agree with Breazy on the Puig debate. Not because I think he will actually maintain any of this or turn out to be a perennial all star caliber player but because the ASG is a joke and should be regarded as such. Therefor I say throw out the guy that is entertaining and has a chance for the spectacular.

Puig has walked 4x this season.

Hope he ends up better than the last "natural" who didn't walk much.

"Can anyone stop rookie sensation Shane Spencer and the Yankees?"

Most of you guys are too young to remember that guy though. 10 home runs (and 3 grand slams) in fewer than 70 at-bats one September.

I remember Shane spencer..and frenchy is a joke. We've already established we have different opinions on judging players talent levels, so that's fine.

I'm not saying Puig is Frenchy (FTR I dont think he is) but let's not act like their debut campaigns are not eerily similar. Corner OFs with absolute cannons, crazy slugging, very low walk rates, media sensationalistic, national slurpage, et al. Only difference is Puigs BABIP is even higher than Frenchy's was his rookie season. A lot of similarities whether people want to admit it or not.

I don't have a fundamental disagreement with you about Puig, other than that I agree with Flatty that we need to see more than 100 plate appearances with a BABIP over .500 to judge him. Either some of this is a fluke or most of this is a fluke. We need more data to determine which.

Watch. Frenchy. Swing. A. Bat.

There's a reason no successful baseball player has Lumberjack as a nickname
