The Atlanta Braves Thread

(checkerboards is right about NIL increasing ticket prices..)
Probably so - but that's only been a recent thing now that NIL has evolved to the point that schools can be more closely involved. Either way, it's weird to argue against it at this point. It's like arguing against electricity.

There is only one source of money. Split it however you want but it all comes from the consumer.
Agree. But, NIL funds is a small drop in the bucket on the bottom line. Danny white is a (smart) business man, he is all about maximizing revenue. That revenue funds a 1,000 different things.

A price increase is much more palatable when you say it’s getting better players! Again, smart.

"They wouldn't try and maximize revenue as much if their expenses were lower" is just a complete non-starter.

They try and maximize revenue regardless of what their expenses are.

Remember our nc state vols charlotte conversation?

Yeah there was hardly an empty seat.

I was there Saturday, I waited to get tickets and they were 100 a pop for terrible seats. FOR KENT STATE! Demand > Supply… but it is more convenient to label the price increase on NIL.

Now I know why they don’t call you chessboards
Attendance: 72,730
Capacity: 75,037

Nope. When NIL was created I said this would happen. It would increase ticket prices, concessions etc..... I was laughed at ridiculed for it. I was told it was optional if you didn't like it, don't donate. I was right it's increasing ticket prices just like I said it would.

Is NIL a factor in ticket prices being raised? Yes.

Is there also like 5 bigger reasons why ticket prices are up? Better team, higher demand, inflation, staff pay raises, investment into facilities? Yes.

If I can never afford a Tennessee ticket again but we are winning 10 games a year/SEC titles and making the playoffs almost every
year that is a sacrifice I am willing to make, even if it does suck.

One thing I think is BS about the tickets is raising prices to $25/game for students. To me, if you're gonna charge your season ticket holders extra that's fine. But $25 might be a couple meals for a student. Raising it that much in such little time isn't cool.
