The Best Coach Since Fulmer Left....

Not a damn thing.

Worley is worse than Crompton.

Still would be chasing Tebow.

Still wouldn't have a proven RB.

Also. Those wins he got, don't mean s*** as Georgia was down that year as well as USCe (who finished an unranked 7-6).

Using that logic UT hasn't had a win worth a s*** since Kiffin left.

Ask yourself where Butch would be if he had Kiffin's roster right now.

I don't understand any of this as a response to my post

Yes, the O-Line. Didnt they only give up like 12 sacks that year? On top of Hardesty rushing for 1300 yards. And what does "Bryce Brown not being there if Kiffin isn't" have to do with anything? He was still there!

18 sacks, and part of the reason that number is as low as it is was because Crompton learned early on that he had to get rid of the ball early. Before the Georgia game (and excluding the WKU beatdown), he was completing like 50% of his passes

Worely is well on his way to changing that.

I'm not sure. Crompton looked scared when he played in the early part of 2009. I'm not sure Worley plays with fear, but the results are pretty similar. Both Crompton and Worley throw fastballs all the time and overthrow open receivers.

...has been Kiffin. There,I said it! The Vols beat S.Carolina and Georgia, and almost beat 'Bama that year. TN seems to be getting worse with each new coach.

All due respect, are you really that ignorant about football? Kiffin almost destroyed the football program with the NCAA!

Kiffin had a stacked roster. Butch has the dregs of whatever wasn't nailed down when Dooley sunk the ship. USC can have kiffin.

You will not understand But Butch had some talent. Butch has no talent yet.

IMO, Butch is the best of the 3 and it's not close; Dooley was simply lost, and Kiffin can't get it done at USC with a roster loaded with talent. The AD's biggest mistake was not forcing Fulmer out; it was forcing Fulmer out without a plan for moving forward. Unfortunately, with every hire the process of finding someone to take the job seems to get more difficult.

People like you are why we're in this situation. You b*tched when Fulmer slid a little and now 5 years later you're back b*tching 5 games into the season.
It's your own damn fault for expecting so much this year. If you had half a brain you'd see the caliber of players he has. My mammaw always told me you just can't make chicken salad with chicken s****. This is for you and all the crybabys calling for Jones job.
Momma always said you can have a pile of dog sh_t and put whip cream on it, it's still dog sh_t but just looks better.. Point.. CBJ is the Whip cream..😊

The problem is that Crompton was always great in practice. Earlier in his career he showed that he could play. He struggled between the ears, only. Worley couldn't solidify his spot in practice to the point that Peterman beat him out for a job that he clearly didn't deserve. There was something in Crompton that Kiffin understood could be molded into a good quarterback.

There's a reason that Worley, despite his gaudy numbers in college, just wasn't highly rated. I still contend that the only reason the Floridas and Florida States of the world (along with us) offered him was to eventually get his talented former teammate (that Cordarrelle guy). Worley is Chad Pennington without the mental.

How has Butch done against Bama, USC, and Georgia?

Oh wait... /thread

The better question is, what do you expect him to do?

Or are you one of these who will say "You have to let him coach the game before you make any assumptions" and then, immediately after we get whipped like an FCS school, you come on here and say "Well, what did you expect?"

Kiffin had a talented team full of NFL talent. who the hell is going to the NFL on this roster? besides a handful of o lineman and maybe AJ. don't see anyone!

It wasn't full of NFL talent in the trenches. We had some great playmakers but overall, it was nowhere near anything we had in previous seasons.

Look at the teams 2003 and prior. Those were loaded with NFL talent.

Quick...name the starters in the NFL from the 2009 team

Yeah. Their were walk-ons on the O and D-lines that year.

I believe the only starter in the NFL from that team is Eric Berry. Hardesty has started some games, but has mostly been hurt like he was while at UT.

I don't know how old you are but go back and research the NFL drafts from the mid 80s to the early 2000s. It's mind blowing how much more talented we used to be during that 20 year stretch. It's very clear that we likely underperformed throughout the 90s, given that we had the most talent in the SEC and top 5 in the country

From the late 80s until the mid 2000s, UT was top 3 virtually every year in the number of players on active NFL rosters. We are currently ranked #10. That's how far we've fallen talent wise and indicative of lackluster recruiting the last 7-8 years

Good post. And good players make coaches look good.
