Connery is the legendary Bond. However I think Brosnan did a great job of merging the brash Connery with the smooth Moore. He's probably the best of the bunch. When Connery was doing most of his Bond films, he wasn't really that good of an actor and the scripts were not that good.
It's Timothy Dalton by the way, not Daltrey. And he sucked almost as bad as George Lazenby.

Agree with most of this - I picked SC but PB is close second. I thought RM was too over the top.

Brosnan had a good showing with Goldeneye but the story lines let him down.

I disagree with Dalton, he pushed toward Bond from the book's and I think he succeeded. Lazenby got a bad rap because he came right after Connery. OHMSS was a wonderful movie with Bond's best on screen ally.

I always like Roger Moore the best. Connery is a very close second.

Was never a big fan of Brosnan. Although that may be because I thought most of the Bond movies he did were stupid. Not because of Brosnan, just the story/special effects/gadgets were getting rediculous.

Craig is good so far, but I was kinda dissapointed in Quantam of Solace. Some of it is just too over the top. Bond becoming an ace DC-3 pilot and flying through canyons and intentionally smoking the engine to blind the other pilot is just stupid. Sorry. From that point on I was soured on the movie.

For the longest time Roger Moore was my favorite, as he was the one I saw first. He was the "original" to me because The first 3 or 4 Bond movies I saw were with him.

I still think he is great in his own way and the movies are really exciting.

I read all the Flemming books, many 2 or 3 times over.

After reading them I don't see how anyone could come to the conclusion that anyone but Connery is the best.
In appearance he is pretty close to the physical description of Bond but bigger.
In the books Bond is 6' and weighs between 170 and 182 lbs.
Connery was 6'3" and 196 when he was in Dr. No.
Dress, mannerisms, ruthlessness, ruggedness, his way with the ladies is all very close to the character Flemming wrote about.

Daniel Craig is very good for an "updated" version of Bond.

I think it may be a generational thing. I'm 26 and my Bond will always be Brosnan.

Seriously? I'm 24, and I think Brosnan gets a little bit of a bad rap as Bond, but all movies in the 90's were over the top and cheesy. Connery was the best.
