PB was hurt because the movie plots sucked.

A little bit of this.... but mostly, he was hurt by the roles he chose to accept outside of Bond movies. I see him more as a Hugh Grant than an action star. Although, I did love him in the Thomas Crown Affair reboot.

Honestly, I think Daniel Craig is promising.

My official vote is going to Craig, but I'm drafting him basically on potential. Connery is my current favorite.

It's hard not to say Connery because he was basically the first to generate all the popularity for the film series. Personally I like the Roger Moore movies the best but Goldeneye will always hold a special place in my heart because of the video game and because I thought it was a great revitalization of the series.

Timothy Dalton was pretty forgettable as Bond, lets face it. Pierce Brosnan was the victim of horrible scripts after Goldeneye, although I did like Tomorrow Never Dies. The World is Not Enough is not only the worst Bond film ever made, its up there as one of the worst movies I've ever seen. It is utterly unwatchable.

Daniel Craig has done a good job so far although I haven't been the biggest fan of his bond films. I know he's supposed to be more like the book character and I think he pulls that off fantastically, but after growing up seeing bond drive half a car through Paris, a tank through Moscow and other crazy stunts, I kind of miss that stuff in the new films. I know they're trying to get away from the goofy gadgets and semi-comical chase scenes, but to me that was one of the things that I loved about the other Bond movies.

Uh..........wha?

Although Lazenby had been offered a contract for seven movies, his agent, Ronan O'Rahilly, convinced him that the secret agent would be archaic in the liberated 1970s, and as a result he left the series after the release of On Her Majesty's Secret Service in 1969.[6] After this role Lazenby began to study drama at Durham University's College of the Venerable Bede.[14] Lazenby has portrayed James Bond several times over the years in numerous parodies and unofficial 007 roles, most notably the 1983 TV movie The Return of the Man from U.N.C.L.E. and an episode of The New Alfred Hitchcock Presents, entitled "Diamonds Aren't Forever".

And Letterman didn't hit NBC till the early 80s.

So, it would appear that I'm crazy.

There was and is only one James Bond. If their name is any other than Sean Connery, then they are poor imitations.
