It is not meat but two of my favorites :

A slice of a nice homegrown tomato, mayo and salt on white bread.

Peanut Butter and banana on white bread with a glass of ice cold milk.

My mom would cook up spam for dinner and then put it or Vienna sausages on a sammich to send for my school lunch and my lunchsack would be soaked with spam grease or vienna juice.

Once in while for supper at our house, we had a can of Spam baked in middle of casserole dish, surrounded by a couple cans of whole kernel corn (also known as, "corn"). Us 4 kids thought that was fancy eatin and that Mama had gone all-out.

I have had many a fried spam sandwiches in my day, add some cheese and egg and that's a breakfast.

Also been known to eat my share of potted meat spread on toast.

I can say I found a really good Pastrami from the oddest of places. Food City has a brand of prepackaged meats, "Land O Frost". Technically they call it "black pepper beef" but it's good.
Picked up a couple of packs of the black pepper beef at Food City ( 2 for $5 ) after reading your post. Put it on Rye bead with deli mustard, chips and a pickle wedge on the side. Good sammich!

:good!:
I bet that was pretty good with the Rye honestly. I often find myself just reaching in the package, grabbing a few pieces, rolling them up and eating them by themselves. :)

Smoked baloney is hard to beat. Local pizza place smokes it daily and slices it very thick. Great sandwich.

Get a whole/unsliced log of bologna. Drown it in brown sugar and spicy creole mustard. Wrap it in foil and set it in your smoker for a few hours. Bring it out and pick the meat off with your fingers, don't slice it or carve it. Put it on some bread.

I can't believe it's not mentioned yet, but corned beef. Not that canned crap either.

I'm not sure what the brand is, but the local grocery store deli has the best I've had so far. Corned beef and swiss with a little spicy mustard?

It's a shame that corned beef isn't appreciated year round. Once a month I'll throw a corned brisket in the crock pot and make a boiled dinner, great stuff and effortless.

Do you actually do the spicing yourself or buy a premade one and prepare it?

I just buy one. We used to corn a load of venison, I'd like to get back into that this fall perhaps.

I haven't had corned venison before. And I still have some good straps left over from last fall in the freezer.

I might give that a try.
