and he's over in cali as a coach where he can easily tell kids the benefits of UT sort of like an unofficial spokesman/recruiter. i'm pretty sure he was in montanas ear but we never offered and rettig who we held off on until too late.

I doubt they are signing 2 QBs. The #1 overall pro style QB could be defined as a whale. Also, I heard that he put on some weight....it might be very fitting.

Strauss isn't a bad QB... why would they offer a scholly then?

That's it. I've officially been turned. I now believe that somthing is going on with Sims. There have been rumblings in the past as well.

Maybe they offered Strauss cause they know the other Simms (the athlete) wont be a QB and they want to take 2 in this next class....??? I wont get my hopes up about this "rumor", until something actually happens. For Kiff and Chaney to bring it up themselves, there has better be some solid, official news this week....or the natives will get restless!

Strauss was at UT's camp? Our coaches must have not been very impressed since we never offered. Not sure why Bama would either since they have Sims, unless they think Sims is de-committing. Strauss has no other big offers and is currently commited to Tulane. Definitely interesting, if true.

I remember a few months ago there was an article on TOS about Strauss and his interest in UT. I looked at his film then, and it is pretty impressive....and he has good size. I never understood why we didnt even offer.

this thread is gonna put me in the crazy house...with all the hopeful news of all the big names and the crap news that there isn't any news..its gonna take me a day of some good fishin to get over it...who knows maybe ill get the "big fish" out of ole dale hollow :D

I don't see how Simms could be comming to UT. He specifically said when he came back from the Elite 11 camp that the UT rumors were not true. Also, he said he is trying to recruit people like Praeter to come to Bama. Unless he is a spy for Kiffin or something, which is highly unlikely.

I thought several people said we didn't offer him (Sims), maybe I'm wrong about that though.. We have clearly offered him here is the link...

Maybe he caught onto Saban.. You know Saban will promise him the QB position, get him signed and then move him to another position.. He has got to know Saban is simply after him for another position.. the poor guy will never see the QB position down there

Maybe Sims has seen all the pre-season hype surrrounding McElroy. Not to mention Bama just signed highly regarded AJ McCarron who is a true freshman and will probably RS this year.
