The "Big Fish" Quarterback Rumor

Bama is taking 2 QB's, Strauss more than likely got a greyshirt offer....nothing more to see here. Blake sims is going to be a WR down there, Phillip QB, so they wanted a 2nd one. Just let this one go guys.

I thought several people said we didn't offer him (Sims), maybe I'm worng about that though.. We have clearly offered him here is the link...

Phillip Sims - Football Recruiting

Maybe he caught onto Saban.. You know Saban will promise him the QB position, get him signed and then move him to another position.. He has got to know Saban is simply after him for another position.. the poor guy will never see the QB position down there

From what I understand, his offer came from the Fulmer regime, and that Kiff and staff never really put much into recruiting him.....which would be backed up by the total lack of stories at Rivals, Scout, etc. about us pursuing him.

That makes sense.. Thanks for the info..

I believe you're right.

Someone stated a tv program airing from 4-7 that may have info on this. Isn't the info suppose to be out today. I want some good news today!

recap---

Saban told Blake Sims of Georgia, that he'd have a chance to play QB at Alabama.

That obviously wasn't the truth, because shortly after taking Blake's pledge, the Tide worked to acquire a verbal pledge from Oscar Smith standout Phillip Sims.

Now the Tide have curiously offered a third quarterback in Strauss.

I think that could likely mean there is some truth to the rumors, that Sims has been looking around since his early pledge to the Tide.

Regarding Phillip Sims, though, the word from Hubbs was that his offer was from the old staff and Kiffin's crew never recruited him that hard.

That may have likely changed as the available quarterback pool was altered.

Back to B. Sims. The buzz is that Blake Sims considered Georgia instead of Alabama, but they weren't interested due to their limited spaces available. If Tennessee wants Blake Sims, they'd seem to have as good of a chance as any other school.

I hope we hear something in the next few days. Like I said before.....the coaches wouldnt "put it out there" for the fans to hear if they werent pretty much 100% they were getting the player in question. If i had to guess (which is all anyone in here is doing) what player it is...if they are talking about someone currently committed, I would say Brunetti (though not sure Kiffin would consider him a "whale"), or if its a transfer, I would say Newton.

That's almost exactly what I told Little Vader earlier today in a PM. interesting.

Worth noting that we don't want Blake Sims as a QB -- rather an athlete. We were honest with him about that though and he appreciated that.

Bama has indicated in the past that they would potentially take two QBs. They recruited Nick Montana pretty heavily.

No way it's Barkley. I could see it being Newton though (if it's anybody at all).

it would probably be barkley bcuz they said a transfer bcuz a juco qb isnt considered a transfer i would guess barkley bcuz he also had some small interest in tennessee i think and with js commiting maybe he feels like pc wants him more and he also knows he probably wont get to play untill next year anyway or it could be tajh boyd bcuz he cant play this year anyway bcuz of a torn acl
