The "Big Fish" Quarterback Rumor

All I have claimed is that he is the person Prehm was talking about with "legs" and that he is considering coming to UT for a visit this fall.

The announcement will be the visit, not that he has committed. I do not believe that anyone knows for certain where Sims will go at this point. The more Bama fans claim they know the more I smell $$$. hahahah yes I am partly joking with that comment, but a kid from Hampton Roads does not care about any SEC school over another, he just wants to go to the NFL and get paid. Vick to VT, Harvin to UF etc.

If TN can start recruiting Hampton Roads well it will be very helpful to our program. Thank God Slade is not in charge of that area any more!

Ahhh...thank you

Bham, why you ain't answer my question ? Cause I called you a bammer troll before ?
I'm sorry, man. Could you give me another chance ? Am I on your ignore list ?

MikeHamiltonFan, am I on his ignore list in your estimation ?

Man you're money. I've got sig quotes through the entire 2011 season. You're the poster rival fans dream of. I will now refer to you as "my little cash cow."

If this whole rumor is about a kid possibly taking a visit to a school, while commited to another, I will not waste much more time in this or the other thread that it pertains to. I was under the impression, which may be my own fault, that it was more along the lines of a commitment, not just a visit.

If that's all it is, I won't hold my breathe.

Thank you sir, you are one of the people on here I respect most for your ability to think as if you were a GA in the recruiting office and not just a compiler of info on pay sites.

I do like the pay sites I do not pay for having all their best info posted here for free, and that is why I think this is the greatest Vol site on the internet.

To the concerned individual, my post will not in any way lower the chance that Sims comes in on his trip. I do not speak for the athletic department or a media publication. If Norfolk news took my story and ran it, it could cause trouble (which is why Prehm cannot say anything for now).

On the last person commenting on the timing of the Sims decision my take is this:

1. Sims is still as of today committed to Alabama.
2. Sims will still take a trip to UT and that is the news that Prehm is holding off on. It may not even be officially announced.
3. It will be probably as Askew said, "2 months" before we know what is happening. The big fish switch could occur at different times. If TN beats Florida I would expect it to happen the following Monday to maximize the news. If TN does not beat Florida I would hope for it to come after the Alabama game...Sims showing up to the Alabama game in Orange would be the greatest thing that has happened at UT since Peyton Manning announced he was coming back for his senior year. How can I say that because we won an NC the next year? Yes we did, but Sims switching would result in national media attention and would establish TN as THE place to go for the hot young recruits. Our 2011 class automatically becomes top 5 in everyones mind and a hard working recruiting staff suddenly finds that our success is a self fulfilling prophecy.

Bryce Brown's commitment certainly helped to foster this perception.

you are my new favorite poster ever. By the way, how's that wall around Memphis doing? It's really a shame for the other posters on this board that you don't research your baseless claims before you make them.

And I feel like I have to clarify this since you it appears you're not aware of your status in the media. You're not hot to them. They hate you. Ole Miss is hot to them. Florida is hot to them. You are not hot to them. While you still may have the desire to believe how "hot" you are you should know that as f*ed up as the BCS is they're not yet giving out National Championships based on off-season "hotness". I can sense how disappointed you are about this.

Without $$$ Tennessee will never build a wall around Memphis. TennStud, Means etc we should all know that by now.

I want to be hated as a program by the fans of all the other teams we are beating. Fact is that TN being hated is great for us! Hotness as it equals getting top flight recruits is fantastic. Coach Gran in Florida, Thompson in AL, Monte to every defensive player, Orgeron everywhere even Cregg to California top players is outstanding.

Recruiting championships with a number 1 class does not equal BCS championships, as Alabama is about to prove once again...It does help though. A few top 10 classes and good coaching and you can have players who lead and win a NC (see UT 1998 with Jeff Hall on special teams, Al Wilson on defense and a trio of NFL running backs running behind NFL linemen) but a few top 10 classes coached by top 10 coaching and you will consistently win.

Ole Miss is hot as a place to tailgate at the Grove. I have always loved it as a nice place where they have great food and lovely ladies and periodically a good team. I personally really like Nutt as a coach. I think at this point most outside the media (which uses last years results to make wildly inaccurate predictions about this year) know that Ole Miss has some great talent (thanks to Coach O) but that they will sink after a year in the sun.

If you do not admit that TN has the best recruiting staff in the country I will guess you are from Pelham and you believe that Brice from American Idol is the greatest singer in the world.

On another note Bham, is it not as funny when you try to explain why something entertains you so much, as opposed to just sitting back and enjoying it ?

You tell me, did it make you laugh? I was just answering the question that he asked me. If it made you laugh than the answer to your question is "yes, it is just as funny".

new article on scout about Bray are we one of the 2???

“San Diego State and Tennessee are the only two schools I’m focusing on right now,” Bray explained. “I will make the trip to Tennessee for their season opener, I can’t wait, and I’m very excited about the trip.”

Prehm just confirmed on the "legs are growing" thread that the person he is talking about is NOT committed, just that a QB who Tennessee he thought had no business with has them as an option. So....basically, this even surprised Prehm. Whoever it is, to what extent it is.

This is the most confusing thread I've ever read on VN.

If the OP's statements are true, that's awesome. What I don't get is why T-Town is so upset. Do we honestly thing that a message board will make or break whether or not a recruit is gonna visit?

Then you're saying your own Coach spoke out of line when he proclaimed it? Sounds like my little cash cow didn't think this through again.
