The Book of Boba Fett (Disney +}

Man, I just don't get it. These last 2 episodes without BF in them have been so boring and corny with a few highlights. What scenes did you guys find entertaining? The jedi training? The ship rebuild scenes?

Grogu sucks. Yeah, I said it.

Did you bring a book for that lonely island?
😂😂

Yeah, and I really don't mind being all alone on this, LOL.

I'm serious with the questions, though. What scenes were entertaining? The gunfight? OK, that's more of the BF storyline than it is Mando. What else?

This is how I feel about baby Yoda and Jonah Hill and I can entertain each other on the island I guess. BY is cute and started as a good plot device but the show (typical Star Wars goofiness) and internet culture ruined it for me. My 3 YO loves BY, so there is that.

Star Wars: Leonardo DiCaprio Made Jonah Hill Watch The Mandalorian but He Didn't "Give a ****"

I’ve enjoyed all of it.

Even before the Mando episodes. I don’t really look for complex storytelling but I do like it to seem like the storyline has a direction. I get that from the whole series.

I mostly liked episodes 1-4. And I have no problem with the story, just the boring telling of it. The story is cool but this was basically 2 episodes of story buildup. They're getting us somewhere, but OMG. Then I come in here and everybody is nerding out about how good it was. I guess I don't know enough about the universe to care about the easter eggs.

Cad Bane is from the Clone Wars. He’s like an elder of the Bounty Hunters. Wasn’t in a ton of episodes but when he was it was always good. His live action debut is definitely note worthy. And the scene was just space western fun.

Seeing Anakin’s padawan with his son is another nerd moment. General nostalgia anytime Luke shows up is still fresh. And Grogu is just too cute not to like (plus his flashback to Order 66).

I definitely get the ship building scene in the previous episode being a little extended but it was still fun. Personally I always thought the Naboo star fighter was the coolest ships from the prequels to it was cool to see one get super up.

Well, personally seeing Ahsoka Tano interacting with Luke was fantastic. Seeing Cad Bane introduced into live action was awesome, and that whole scene was just freaking tense. Loved it. I don’t see how one can enjoy Star Wars, but not enjoy that episode 😂
Have you watched the clone wars series? If not, do yourself a favor and try it

To me it had no meaning beyond this storyline, so clearly that 10 minutes wasn't for me.

The problem with these 2 episodes is I don't like Star Wars enough to invest enough time to know why many of these scenes would be entertaining to anyone. I don't like it enough to watch 133 episodes of a cartoon.

I would say perhaps things “have no meaning” to you because you aren’t much of a fan of Star Wars, are unfamiliar with many of the characters, the importance and implications of their appearance and interactions, etc.
Idk, seems weird to say you don’t see why it was entertaining to anyone when you don’t have much of an understanding of any of it or even like it much.

I haven’t watched the animated series so I don’t get the relevant canon involved, but I can appreciate the excitement and it doesn’t taint my enjoyment. Of course I fully intend to utilize my Disney+ to do proper due diligence…especially with Admiral Thrawn’s introduction pending. A relatable analogy for those who disdain that which they don’t understand fully is Better Call Saul. Pretty sure I’d enjoy that series without Breaking Bad context, but I appreciate it MORE knowing the references and Easter eggs.

You have invoked my nerd rage setting and I will respond appropriately when I get on a laptop.

I thought the gunfight was cheesy, especially considering Givens was the sheriff. I like the mandelorian better than Boba feet. Mandalorian needs a big ship to sleep and put his stuff in.

This weekend I started a SW watch-thru for family movie nights. While my kids have watched CW and Rebels, they were small and don’t remember storylines very well. They have seen the OT several times but the prequels only once or twice (littlest one maybe never).

We did Ep I-II and the CW movie. Next week I think I will pull select CW arcs to watch before moving on to E III. I don’t really have the patience for all 7 seasons again but there is definitely some growth with Asohka I want them to get.

Okay, Huff, now that I'm properly behind a keyboard and you get to see me go full nerd...

I'm going to spoiler tag it so those who may not have seen the show won't be surprised.

So, it's not as much about entertainment as it is about a whole slew of questions being answered that have been around for a while. Since the Clone Wars and Rebels for some of them. Specifically:

Ahsoka during the Rebellion and if she ever came into contact with Luke in the aftermath of ROTJ. Being one of the few surviving Light Side users (she's not a Jedi any longer as she's made that clear in Clone Wars S7, Rebels S2 and the Mandalorian S2) fans wondered if she ever came into contact with Luke. She made a token appearance in the last episode of Rebels which was, timeline wise, right after ROTJ. So, everyone knew she survived, but exactly what was she doing. So, still unanswered questions about specifically what she was doing during Ep IV-VI (probably helping the Rebellion as that's where she was during Rebels), but since there were so few Force users in that aftermath, it would have been hard for them not to have detected each other.

So, her and Luke meeting up answered a HUGE question on the mind of rabid fans as to if they met and what would happen. Plus, they really are setting up her series due out relatively soon. She's hunting for Thrawn and in turn, probably hunting for Ezra Bridger. (yet another unanswered question from Rebels... Filoni is a genius)

Not even going to get into the Ezra theories and what happened to him after Rebels.

The Grogu scene is setting up the Mandalorian S3... maybe. Not entirely positive on that, but the choice he has to make and Luke making him decide is opening up a LOT of questions. Did Grogu stick around and get slaughtered when Kylo goes all temper tantrum and kills all the Jedi students? Does he go back to Mando? Again, they set that up very nicely with fans saying "Okay, and...!"

The gunfight scene was one of those moments where you had yet another character going all the way back to the Clone Wars coming to live action. Cad Bane disappeared for a long time and his status was one of those that people tended to wonder about. But furthermore, he certainly was the JR Ewing of the Star Wars universe. You hated his character, but you loved the depth he brought. Now, to bring him to live action? There's possibly closure coming in yet another fan favorite character that they left hanging in Clone Wars and Bad Batch.

It just so happened he shot another "fan favorite" when he dueled with Cobb Vanth. For only being in one episode, that character really was taken in by SW fans. So, again, the drama aspect of one of the more despised villains of Star Wars shooting (maybe killing) one of the characters the fans like? Just makes you hate him more.

Anyway, overall that episode was one that answered a HUGE question on the minds of SW fans, opened up a LOT more possibilities of how the Ashoka series will unfold, possibly set the tone for the next season of the Mandalorian and brought another character to the live action scene that was pretty popular during Clone Wars. Filoni and Favreau are smart as hell in the way they are slowly introducing popular characters from other series' into the live action realm. Big SW nerds (like way more than me) practically wet themselves when Katee Sackhoff showed up in Mando S2 as Bo Katan. They probably wet themselves even more when they saw that hat coming out of the distance in the desert.

The introduction of former fan favorite characters, the redemption of Luke, Ahsoka's fate and continued scoundrel activities of former villains is taking Book of Boba Fett (Or Mandalorian Season 2.5 if you will) to a whole new level. The whole idea of answering questions about the fate of some characters is really drawing fans back into the fold that may have turned away after the Ep VII-IX debacle.

The next time you watch a Grogu scene, pretend like you're not 7 years old and see if you like it.

Despicable? I said the last two episodes were boring. I'm saying I want the Boba Fett story on the Boba Fett show.

Don't be so sensitive.
