The Braves Thread

I don’t care what top pitching prospect they have to give up to get Archer because 1) we’ve got a surplus we need to capitalize on 2) we’ve seen what happens (Wisler/Sims) when they wait too long.

What are the odds any of these guys turn out to be as good as Archer in his prime? Maybe one or two of them? Keep Touki, try to keep Pache and Riley because they are our only position player prospects, and everyone else is fair game.

Not really sure who you are referencing but not giving up 6 years of Wright or Soroka for 3 years of Archer.

Or Touki.

I don’t mind giving up legit pieces but I’m not gonna give my one of my top three prospects when no else is putting that on the table. Allard/Gohara are both ML ready and top 100 prospects. That should be enough as a main course.

**** swirling about Matt Harvey interest from the Braves. Just no.
They should’ve scooped him up when he was a free agent. Braves pitching has been in a situation where they need all they can get at pitching and if you’re going to sign Bautista you might as well give Harvey a chance with Braves pitching situation. He’s not worth trading for though.

His nightly bar tab would help the Atlanta economy, but other than that... no upside

Eh, I wouldn’t ~want~ to do it either but I’m saying it shouldn’t be a dealbreaker. We all have a tendency to overvalue our own prospects.

It won’t take that much to get him anyway. One good prospect, one average prospect, one shot in the dark.

Let me say I think Archer would do big things in the NL. Getting him in a pennant race, out of that dump of a ballpark, and out of the AL East and he could dominate
