The Braves Thread

Duvall has never been a hitting for average type guy as long as I've watched as a Red. This season though I'm really not sure what went wrong and why he is only sitting around .200-.205. The numbers are there though: 15 HR & 61 RBIs. Plus he is a great defensive guy in the outfield. I really do wish him luck but this season trying to watch him bat is as bad as watching Billy Hamilton. So what can you tell me about the guys we got in return? The pitchers aren't really eye popping.
I think Sims can be a really good reliever. I’m skeptical Wisler has any plus pitches to be anything more than a AAA arm.

The Braves kept trying to make both those guys starters and it just wasn’t working.

Matt Wisler has been ok in middle relief and is a tweener with a spot starter/middle inning ceiling. Nothing flashy about him.

Lucas Sims is hard to figure. He has been flat out bad. No other way to put it. Hopefully a change of scenery does him done good.

Tucker had a great first month playing everyday but came back to earth. Probably a 4th outfielder.

Tucker is good enough to find a spot on a team I believe. Nobody expected Culberson or Camargo to hold down their spots by being as valuable as they have. The pitchers are still young, but they’ve been given plenty of opportunities and have very little to show for it. Sims still has hope, but I wouldn’t expect much out of Wisler. That guy has the same look on his face I would if I stepped on an MLB mound. He just seems to have no confidence whatsoever. I hope the change of scenery is good for both pitchers.

Sims is a AAAA pitcher and Wisler shows you just enough to hang on to but hasn’t put any sustained success together. Tucker feels like a LH Duvall with worse defense honestly.

Bryce Harper is off the market.

Nationals president of baseball operations and GM Mike Rizzo has issued a strong statement about his intentions amid speculation that the club has considered trading star Bryce Harper. As Chelsea Janes of the Washington Post reports on Twitter, Rizzo says: “Bryce is not going anywhere. I believe in this team.”

Thanks for the reviews sounds about what Adam should have received than guess I'm happy with the trade than. Duvall really didn't have a spot in next year's OF with Winker, Schebler, and possibly Hamilton returning. As for the pitchers I guess the Reds FO are using the logic of aquiring as many young arms as possible hoping at least one or two works. From what the Reds guys are saying Tucker is reporting to the Reds and no decisions on where the pitchers will report to has been made yet.

LMAO Mike Rizzo: “I believe in this team.”

“Anybody want Gio Gonzalez or Kelvin Herrera?”

It was code for "We checked the market and talked to Bryce about it and he said no and we want to resign him so...."

I’m thinking AA makes a splash today on a pitcher nobody is really talking about Atlanta getting.... Miuntes before the deadline we are going to acquire Fulmer

The Pirates are so dumb. They go on a crazy winning streak and are still have 5 back of a WC spot and are trying to buy...at least its for controllable pitching.

Inciarte, Gohara and some dudes a little further down the list for Archer and Pham and let’s bring it to the house.

I don’t care what top pitching prospect they have to give up to get Archer because 1) we’ve got a surplus we need to capitalize on 2) we’ve seen what happens (Wisler/Sims) when they wait too long.

What are the odds any of these guys turn out to be as good as Archer in his prime? Maybe one or two of them? Keep Touki, try to keep Pache and Riley because they are our only position player prospects, and everyone else is fair game.
