The Braves Thread

Just looking at the upcoming FA list.... My shopping list would be

Belli or Santander
Adames
Freddy Peralta
Seranthony Dominguez
Joe Kelly
Shane Bieber

Santander is good but he's the same exact player as the other 4 guys we have. I just don't trust Bellinger's numbers at all. Just a weird profile. Adames is a needed dude but I have no faith they'll make a move. I'd stay away from Beiber but Peralta intrigues me. He's not an innings eater but stuff his good, K rate is really good. Maybe a couple adjustments and he could improve like Lopez. If they were in on Nola last year, Peralta would be worth exploring.

The thing about Peralta his is a club option. It's only 8 mil so I assume Miluwakee would pick it up.

The thing I like most about Santander he's a switch hitter. I think we need either a lefty or a switch in LF if we stay right handed at SS.

That's the main reason I want Belli he's left handed

Ah, I didn't realize that about Peralta. Yes they are definitely keeping him then.

I wouldn't mind signing a SP and trading a couple of the guys we have. I just don't know what SS would even be on the market. All the good teams keep theirs and the bad teams have young guys. Can I interest you in JP Crawford or Geraldo Perdomo?

Santander was pretty amazing on the road this season.

Ha Kim and Peralta would be great.

Kim would be a really good fit. He is also a guy who puts the ball in play and draws walk. You would in theory put him 9th with Harris behind him and be in a really good spot. Add a LF that can mash righties and you're not far away from an elite offense again with better health.

The problem is I'm not worried about the regular season. I know they're good. Until they change the manager, I'm afraid this isn't going to mean much.

I like Crawford but I think there's no way Seattle moves him. Perdomo I don't know a ton about.

I'm not sure I'm bankin on 290 innings from Sale and Lopez again either
Strider, Schwell, Sale, Lopez, AJSS, Ian, Waldrep, elder (gulp), whatever veteran we get on a 1 yr

The schwell innings are the ones I’m most worried about re: health at the moment.

Would not mind Schwell not throwing a baseball until mid April for 2025 lol

Hackenberg might be in the mix as well. Hopefully it doesn’t get to that point tho

He was given a poor offer. Basically a token Alex knew he wasn't going to accept it.

5 years/$140M wasn't a poor offer. The problem is Alex wouldn't budge a cent or give a future HOF an extra year, then spent all his prospect capital to go get his replacement who is worse.

BJ Upton is still the Braves biggest FA contract right? If you are predicting the Braves sign a big name FA, you are predicting them to do something they've never done.

That's not even the saddest Braves FA fact!

The biggest pitching contract they've given to a FA.......DEREK LOWE IN 2008!!!!!! For $60M!!! Josh Hader isn't good and he got $95M as a RELIEVER last year
