There should never be such a thing as a no downside game. Team A losing a conference title game to Team B should be viewed through the same lens as if it had happened during the regular season.

Mixed feelings about this in this weird little system we've set up. The potential reward of a first round bye is a helluva thing to be eligible for.

From 2004-2019, out of 64 majors, one of Rafa, Novak or Roger won it 55 times (86%)

If you add Murray and Wawrinka to that list, 5 men won 61/64 majors.

From 2006- 2019, only two men not of the 5
listed won a major.

From 2010-2019, only one man not of the 5 listed won a major.

I thought we had hit the sweet spot at 12, but there’s so much parity now that I think 16 can be justified. It’ll probably end up there.

I was hoping with 12 it would put pressure on Notre Dame to be a man and join a conference because you can’t get a bye without winning your conference but with it going to 16 it won’t matter
