Bill Connelly ran some numbers and says there’s a 12% chance that Notre Dame, Alabama, Texas, Penn State, Ole Miss and Georgia all win the next two weeks. As long as we take care of business we will have a great chance to get in. We won’t host a playoff game but I’ll take a 6-11 matchup against Penn State any day of the week

If we played Penn St in Neyland or at a neutral site, I'd have almost 100% confidence we'd beat them. In State College, eek.

I don't know if I can remember a Vols team in recent memory that gets more juice from playing at home than this one. I bet that is probably a function of this being such a defensively strong team. UF and Alabama are absolutely losses if they were on the road, and Arkansas and UGA are wins if they are at home.
