It's probably a good thing Crompton didn't talk to the people of this board before he signed. If he did we might be facing him against, SC, Ga, or bama, and I'm not talking about the trouble some of the team has been in, I'm talking about the "he's not good enough to beat Ainge out" talk.

No - I think I could tell by his tone that he meant you.

Yeah, you're probably right. After all, I wanted Munoz to get drafted.

That is so hard to believe that a school like that was in the running. I guess being close to home meant a lot. Looks like he's getting his wish.

I mean, you people seem to think he's not good enough to beat Ainge out. He seems to think (on the coaches promises) that he'll be given the chance to compete against him. Most seem to want him to red shirt. He seems to be clear in any interview I've read that he will not be red shirting. The people of this board seem to know something he doesn't. Maybe if he'd talked to this board first he'd have signed somewhere else. I think he'd be wise to listen to the coaches myself.

I think it's in every Freshman's best interest in redshirt, but that isn't usually possibly anymore with reduced scholarships. If he's better than Ainge/Clausen, he'll be on the field.

If anything, I guess he'll go into Fall practice as the #3 QB. Hopefully he won't have to play though.

Nobody on here has said that he isn't good enough to beat Ainge, we all just know that it's not very likely that Fulmer and staff will want another true freshman playing QB next year. I myself, have never seen Crompton play, so I don't have anything on him to compare to Ainge.

If you go back and look at some old post's, you will see that we are all very happy about getting Crompton. I am sure that he will be a good QB soon enough. It just won't be next year.

Maybe Tennessee's most mobile QB ever can come back to UF where he belongs.
Leave it to us guys here in Spurrierville (Johnson City) to hope for that. Erik Ainge will be a dominating QB in the future, though. Rick is as bad as his brother.

I forgot to mention the fact that if he does end up in Gainsville, he would be the perfect successer to Chris Leak and take us back to an SEC East title. Or at least I hope.

Schaeffer won't be allowed to sign with any other school on Tennessee's schedule right?

That's the word - no SEC schools or anyone on the schedule through 2008.

Spurrierville? I thought that was Gainesville?

Kind of fitting that Steve Spurrier Field is located right beside a low income housing project.

Brent's athleticism will be missed. However, his bad grades, poor classroom attendance, and campus fisticuffs will not.
