The cancel culture is getting out of control

I disagree…. I feel like the movies should be similar to the originals just spruced up versions…. I wish they would come up with better original content for us to enjoy.

I like the new stuff. Luca, Encanto, Raya, Coco, and Onward come to mind and they were all good.

I didn't say racism or racist, but you've been confused from the start

Lol. It is known what you meant. A quick google of this subject produces link after link of outrage similar to yours. It is likely where yours was born.

But you did condemn them as “losers” when we have an example right here as to why someone would push the dislike button and it has nothing to do with being a “loser”.

I inferred he prefers that a character stay the same. If she had originally been black with red hair and they did a remake with her being black with blonde hair, then I believe that would not align with his preferences. So no.

And that's why you're just a damnable racist; you never lead with yelling "racist!!".

Whites are extremely well represented. No need for lamentations.

My biggest complaint about these remakes is that they are too similar to the originals. What is the point if you aren't going to make it different?

Then you could have led with your biggest complaint instead of casting it as "racists with hate in their hearts" - ?

This is why someone recently - aptly - noted your professed anarcho-cap/libertarianism more closely resembles that of leftist talking points. Of itself not surprising since AC/L philosophy boiled to a reduction more closely aligns with the Marxian progression from capitalism-socialism-communism (a stateless society) than a constitutional republic

Inanity that perpetually consigns AC/L to the dumpster of irrelevance even as Marxian comrades in spirit ascend, garnering just an occasional mild, token criticism in contrast to that voiced for conservatives much more closely aligned with that constitutional republic. In their haste to emphasize their differences with conservatives, AC/Lers have become the enablers of the left, whom on the foundation question of individual liberty they have least in common.

If AC/lers couldn't default to legalizing drugs and institutional racism, I'm not sure what they'd talk about these days.

This is such BS!! The right started cancel culture with “Boycott the Dixie Chicks”, boycott the NFL, NBA, Rapinoe etc etc …now it’s ban books and all kinds of other stupid BS.

?
Though the term was coined for an 1800's Irish real estate magnate, boycotting is figuratively as old as Genesis (the Bible, not English group).

The problem with the cancel culture version is that it's based upon ideological mechanisms of government to retain power and use that power to attack and punish political opponents. It is also using a corporatist (fascist) approach to that end by coercing industry to do what it is constitutionally prohibited from such as shutting down speech it does not approve. As if the framers intended that congress and presidency may fascistically undermine the constitution by proxy.

Aside from war-time abuses of power, this is a new strain of American boycott that threatens - seeks- to ruin reputation, livelihood, relations, and even one's liberty.

It took them until smoke became burning embers at their feet, but even some on the moderate left - not insane left (Dershowitz, Maher, Greenwald) are saying "WTF!" to the Democrat party that has emerged in this, the 3rd term of Obama.

From that sober perch, isn't railing over the "all kinds of stupid BS" a variant of "stupid BS!" - ?

Yea, from the thoughts he posted. He is free to tell me I am wrong.

You did it based on people pushing a “dislike” button. Lol.

Are you on drugs? I based it on what beast said.

Not all 1.5m dislikes are based on race but we know that the internet freaked out when the casting was announced, and we know a 3:1 dislike ratio is a weird phenomemon for this type of trailer. You can try to act like it's not based on race but anybody with the common sense that God gave a rock knows that a significant portion of those dislikes are from miserable losers who don't like the inclusivity trend.

But you can't say what that number or percentage is, nor establish that being against the DEI movement means one is racist. I recognize the DEI movement as the anti-American/Western Marxist propaganda that it is; am I racist, Huff? For instance, I know 'black lives matter' without blackface Marxists - openly committed to eradication of this constitutional republic - shrieking it and being a locus for violent revolution.

The "inclusivity trend" is their product and should be roundly opposed. Turn in your Anarcho-Cap/Libertarian card.
While you're at it, live up to the pretense while posting 'Reason' articles and spend some time there reading articles on Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion.

A Canadian university Cancels intramural hockey in the name of 'equity'

Hockey is canceled — at least at Mount Royal University in Canada.

The university has shut down ice hockey intramurals for the coming semester, declaring it is committed to “equity, diversity, and inclusion” and that the university must have “safe services” that “welcome all individuals.” An announcement on the university’s website said that among the many factors considered in this decision were a “sense of belonging” and “who the program was built by, with, without, and for.”
