What are the chances that oklahoma beats ok state, oregon beats stanford, and maybe lsu loses another game?
slim, but not impossible. That would be pretty neat.

Boise would probably have to lose as well. All the "sisters of the poor" supporters would be screaming it's not fair. That is until LSU beat them by 30 points and provided the proof that they play one decent team a year.

Losing at home should eliminate them. Had they lost in OT on the road, it'd be a little easier to make a case for them.

I agree. If they played at Red Stick they would have a much better case. As it stands I don't see it.

Slim to none. Unless Alabama somehow gets to the SECCG they don't deserve an NC slot.

Just like Georgia, Virginia Tech, Oregon (twice), blah blah blah etc etc did.

It all depends on how GA does. If they lose another SEC game and lose to GA Tech then get waxed in the SEC championship game by LSU then Boise St. only Top 25 win may not look impressive enough to get back in the race.

Bama's best chance is for Arky to beat LSU and create a 3-way tie. If the BCS rankings somehow favor Bama, they'd be in position to make the NC if either Stanford or Okie State lose a game. It's a reach, because Bama would probably need LSU to finish 3rd out of the 3 in the BCS, since the 2nd-place team can jump the leader based on head-to-head if they are within 5 BCS spots.

I think Bama has to reach the SEC title game to reach the NC, so the above is their only shot.

Slim, and if lsu loses it will likely be to Arkansas...who could arguably jump Alabama after that

Not slim at all. OU and Oregon will eliminate Stanford & Okie Lite. Bama will jump Boise after LSU smashes Georgia by 4 tds in the SECCG setting up a rematch

I don't care how good Bama is. Whatever happened to the whole "you didn't even win your own division" argument.

Bama had their shot at home and they blew it. It would be completely unfair to LSU to play them again, not to mention the Pac-12 and Big-12 champion would get screwed if Bama jumps them somehow.

The Big 12 dont even have divisions so they wont win their division either. How would they get screwed over a team that plays in a conference with a championship game?

He's referencing when ESPN and everyone (mainly ESPN) said UGA couldn't be in the national championship game in 2007

I really think there ought to be a rule saying a team has to win its conference to play for the bcsmnc.

That said, I think we see a rematch. I don't give Stanford or okie lite much chance to win out.

That's not what I meant. The Big-12 champ and/or Pac-12 champ would have a much better argument to play LSU for the NC, even if they were to have 1 loss.

Bama had their shot already. They only way they play for a NC is if they somehow make it to the SECCG and win it.

Yes, we were somewhat in this position back in 07 and that's when everybody was making that "division" argument. I would just like to see a little consistency from time to time. I know everybody loves Bama and all but the lovefest is getting out of hand.

Assuming lsu wins out, bama should have to wait behind all of the major conference winners regardless of how many losses they have. Also if there wasn't a rematch in 2006, then there shouldn't even be a chance of one this year.

I am ****ing sick of Vol fans jizzing in their pants in awe of our rivals. Where is the Alabama hatred?

Most TN fans were pulling for LSU. The SEC is the top dog and any team that hires a quality coach in the SEC right now can win a NC.

So why wouldn't OU's win over the #2/3 team jump them back up over Alabama after championship game week? (wondering if the same possibly could be said about Oregon after beating Stanford as well)
