Holly has devoted her whole adult life To all things Lady Vols. She is a great person. At the conclusion of this season she will have had 5 full seasons to demonstrate her stuff. She will not be fired unless there is some huge scandal that unfolds. She will be in charge at least until the conclusion of this season because the New Athletic Director will not take such precipitous action even if it is David Blackburn.
She is 58 years of age and I believe by all state conditions is eligible for State retirement. If she continues on the glide path of last season and so far this season for the remainder of this season, the right thing for her to do and for the University to do is to retire with a huge retirement parade in honor of all that she has done for the Lady Vols.If such was to take place she would depart sometime next Spring or Summer. All of us are in favor of what is best for the Lady Vol program going forward and there have been harsh critics of players, coaching, recruiting ( last year in particular ) including me but all of these key strokes only accomplished one thing for all of us ....ventilation.I believe that every soul in each Camp { get rid of or retain Holly ) is easily identified from posts in the last two months and sufficient ventilation of those ideas well known. It does no good ( other than ventilation ) to continue the dialogue on either side of this issue so it would be best for the program to at least tone down the rhetoric until the season ends....even during the losses that are sure to ensue.
So that is what I propose ,lets tone it down until next April when a new Athletic Director has had some time in the seat ( speculation is that a new AD will be in place by Christmas ),Holly and her team performance has proved out either successfully or not.I believe that New AD will assess the situation and take appropriate action at that time.
I realize that I am considered the " Devil " preaching to Angels here so take that into account in your reaction to this post
This is all I was ever trying to say, alexvol - can't we just tone it down? Nothing is changing for now. Why keep going on an on? It seems it just fuels angst...and who needs more of that? (I sure don't!) My goodness - the negative posts in the recruiting threads - and the ones in the thread welcoming Mimi Collins made me cringe. Dear Lord!
And I don't know if you're the devil...but I sure ain't no angel! 😁
