The Conference championship game needs to abolished

So a better loss is worth more than head to head and a conference championship?

That's what you're basically saying to keep PSU out and OSU in.

Totally discounting the quality of wins Ohio State has. Ohio State is clearly better than Penn State and simply saying they should be in based on 2 games is silly.

If Ohio St. hadn't lost to Penn St., we wouldn't be having the conversation either.

No but Ohio State dominated Oklahoma and has mo betta wins than Penn State. I really don't understand the big stink. Now if both teams had one loss and Ohio State still was going to get in then yea that would be a bunch of crap.

Penn State should haven't lost to Pittsburgh. Wouldn't even be having the conversation.

And Ohio State shouldn't have lost to Penn State - we wouldn't be having this conversation. Yet they did, so we are, what's your point?

Wat. Ohio State isn't "clearly better" than PSU, because they fuqing lost to PSU - On. The. Field.

OS didn't win their conference, they sure as hell shouldn't get in over the champ of their conference and the team they lost to.

We shall see. If they are still #2 in the rankings then yes they are clearly better than Penn State.

Ohio State beat Oklahoma and Wisconsin on the road. Beat Michigan.

Penn State beat Ohio State at home and Wisconsin on a neutral field.

Who has the better resume?

Not true at all. If they are #2 it simply means a very small handful of people decided to write their name next to that number. "Better" should always be decided on the field to keep integrity. Otherwise why give the trophy to the playoff winner. Just give it to whichever team is thought to be "better" after the playoffs. If Bama gets upset then it's an easy case to say normally Bama wins that game 9 times out of 10 and therefore they are "better" and this should be handed the trophy.

Simply using one game out of the entire season to determine if a team should be in the playoff is silly. Ohio State has had the better season based on quality of wins. It really isn't that hard to understand.

They use one game out of the season to decide who should be in the conference playoff. What's the difference? OSU didn't get to play Wisconsin yesterday because they had the "better season".

They beat them already at Wisconsin. It would be less shocking to bump Washington for Penn State cause Washington's schedule was weak sauce.

I have always said that for the NCAA basketball tournament, giving the conf tourney winner an automatic berth -- they make the regular season pointless

Does it though? The regular season champ in each conference gets an automatic berth as well.

Huh? Pretty sure that is not the case. The regular season champ gets an automatic bid to the NIT if they don't make it to the NCAA Tournamnent.

One has Big 10 Champion on their resume. If that doesn't count for anything, then do away with the damn thing because it's worthless.

ROFL....guess what, OSU would have gotten to go to the Rose Bowl too, but I somehow don't think OSU would have been satisified by that.

The goal ain't the damn Rose Bowl.

Beat Pitt and they are in the playoffs quit the *****ing.

Ohio State is one of the four best teams in the country. So is Michigan. Penn State is a great story but despite beating OSU they would lose 80% of the time.

I just hate how the committee changes it to fit their narrative and get their money. The first year it was winning your conference outright so Ohio State could get in. Last year it was about resumes to get Oklahoma and Michigan State in (much bigger draws) than Stanford who was better than both. This year it is about "the clear four best teams" to get Clemson and Ohio State in to appease the conferences and like I said...get thaf money.

It doesn't matter what they WOULD do it matters what they did. Now the playoff committee showed that winning the best conference in the country (this year) means nothing. Penn State got screwed

So, tOSU's SoS is why they are in over PSU.

BUT

Washington has an abysmal SoS and still got in over PSU.

Because logic or whatever.
