Are we still talking about BEFORE the last draft? I already addressed Ferguson working out but LaPorta is an upgrade…as were several other TE options. Someone insisted on a second or third day graded talent being jumped on in the first and I’m betting it wasn’t the scouts…so therefore not Stephen…so a Jerry wild hair. Allz I’m saying. Now the Boys are sweating whether Gilmore is returning to the Patriots. But they’re FINE with two corners…one returning from an injury.

I think they will pick up a proven back before training camp. Maybe a Kareem Hunt or a Cam Akers.

Don't believe Royce Freeman even makes it to training camp the cut a check for his guaranteed money and see you later.

As a short yard specialist Zeke was sorely missed last year. We suffered in the red zone. Pollard is a good back, but he could not run for those tough short yardage situations.

Dallas seems to be going for the mindset of "if we have a good o-line we can plug in any back and have a good enough run game". I think there is some truth to that in today's NFL, but it would be nice to see someone you know is capable of handling the #1 rb duties.

If they had that 4th round pick instead of dealing it for Trey Lance, that's likely used on a rb imo.

Something like that. At the pro bowl skills challenge. Story goes that the first time he went up against Reggie White, Reggie just embarrassed him the whole game and Larry vowed then to be the strongest man in the NFL. And the rest is legendary history.

My gut feeling on Dak’s contract……Dak’s side isn’t negotiating in good faith. They are asking for his free agent 2025 market value next year with several NFL teams competing for him. Which is probably in the 60mil+ APY. Maybe not the entire full cost but close enough that Dallas hasn’t done anything yet.

He wants to reset the qb market now.

Probably right on target with your assessment. Dak wants top of future market money even though he ain't got no rings. If he had led the team to a super bowl and several NFCCG, then ok, but his post season record should be what balaces that scale. Dak is a good QB, no doubt about it. But he is demanding great QB money and has not shown he is worth it. Great ones can carry their team when needed. Dak cannot carry the team. He has earned a new contract in the 40-45/yr range.

40-45 just isn't realistic though. I imagine he's been fine waiting because the later you sign the more money you tend to get. So he's fine letting all the other qbs raise the avg. Guys with less experience, less playoff wins, no super bowls are getting 50+apy and more guaranteed. That's not what gets qbs paid in today's NFL. No teams want to be in that dead zone where you don't have your franchise qb.

I'd guess Jerry has made offers in the 52-55 apy, with varying guarantees or lengths and Dak's side has been firm on 60+ or near that.

After Jerry's presser from camp it seems he is ready to pay Dak and CeeDee. Which means Parsons will get tagged next year and probably traded because Tyler Smith will be getting paid and there just won't be enough pie to go around.

I dunno. He would get them 2 firsts most likely. Maybe more. More than CeeDee would bring in a trade. And Dak has a no trade clause so he would have to approve the new team and terms. They ain't trading Tyler Smith. So there will either be a big name trade or a bunch of low paid vets or young guys rounding out the roster that is immensely top heavy contract wise. I could see Dak, CeeDee, Micah, and Tyler Smith easily taking up over 150 mil of the cap each year.
