The Day Before

Welcome! I’m excited about the game, been waiting with great anticipation all week. It’s yet another game where I don’t know at all what to expect. Most likely, it will be a close defensive slugfest, but in the back of my mind I know that on the one hand, UGA could come out lathered up and run us out of the building. On the other hand, our offense could continue to click just a little bit more, as it has the past couple weeks, and Beck could turn the ball over, and we could be the ones laying a whooping on y’all. Wouldn’t be surprised by either team winning by 3 points or 3 touchdowns.

I second your hope for an injury-free game. Go Big Orange!
Momentum will be huge. I believe both, teams, coaches, and fans know the importance. Going to be a long game.

Agreed. Nervous eating, drinking, and praying will be the theme of my event.
If the VOLS can somehow pull off a win vs your Dawgs, I’ll have a pour of either Eagle Rare, Weller 12 or Elmer T Lee. I just can’t drink during a game. A little bit before or pour one after, fine. I’m too busy “coaching” during the game to drink. 😁. That Elmer T Lee sure was nice back at the tailgate after we beat Bama in 22. We went well into the night.

Hey Vol Nation,

Just wanted to swing by and wish y'all safe travels for the journey tomorrow. Here's hoping for a hard-fought, injury-free game. I'll be honest, I'm nervous as all get out – it's practically a playoff elimination game, and both teams are feeling the pressure. Beck isn't exactly setting the field on fire lately, and we're not riding the same wave of confidence we've had in recent years. But hey, that's what makes this game great, right? How are ya'll feeling about this one?

Looking forward to eating my weight in food and drinking enough bourbon to calm my nerves. Go Dawgs!
I hate you. That’s all.

It's hard to set aside the fact that GA coming into this game is next to last in the SEC in rushing ypg and TN is #1. Granted GA has the league's #6 rushing ypg D but TN has the #2. AND I just heard this morning that Etienne is out for the game. That can't bode well for the dogs. Finally if GA is having a rough go of it on the ground Beck has, of late, let's just say has struggled with ball security.

If TN controls the ground and makes GA one dimensional Beck and GA's OL are going to need a real upgrade over recent performances. Now having said all that anyone just assuming a victory (for either side) hasn't watched enough football.

This is why I will be drinking. Look out for unknown freshman RB #20 Dwight (Peanut) Phillips.

You have no idea how grateful I am for our recent success. I am old enough to remember getting demolished by you guys in the 90's. Keeps me humble.
With all due respect, you are one of the few dawg fans I’ve engaged w/ that recall the days of Ray Goff and others. I miss those days.

it will all come down to line play. specifically how each offensive lines plays.that will determine a lot, including the turnover battle.

UGA has some game wreckers finally back healthy at DE, and our OL isn't great against the pass rush. but typically by the third quarter we have turned it over to the run game, and we will start to churn out yards. If we can keep our Freshman QB from any blindside strip sacks we should be pretty good.

with all the injuries, on both the Oline and RB, yall have its tough for me to say how our Dline will do. we haven't had a lot of sacks, but they have been timely. we can almost count on our DL to generate at least one turnover, and have been good against the run but Mississippi State looked like they found something your OL can exploit.

Home field will be an advantage if the crowd shows up. Weather calls for rain which I think helps you all in more ways than with just the crowd. Kirby will have them ready but I'm not sure if we are the same caliber team with so many injuries. Our OL, RB's, and WR's have been decimated with injuries. Going to be a good one for sure.
Lot's of rain.

I agree. I think is a slugfest. I think the team with the best OL performance wins it. Neither team moves the ball without protecting the QB. And Im not sure if your describing your qb or ours because the resemblance is uncanny.

Concur. I think this is going to be a defensive battle from start to finish.

I've not watched any UGA games this season, but I remember reading somewhere that y'all were having trouble on offense with getting rolling in the 1st half like we have been recently. Any veracity to that?
