Hey Fade,,,

I'm hoping for a close, tough, low scoring slugfest that our VOLS come out on top,,, or VOLS by Fiddy of course!!

However,,
We can all agree that uga wears the GOWNS? That's some Poem you wrote.
Positive that's NOT a Type-O 🤣

"Now, with titles in hand, two national crowns,
They've shown to the world, they're the ones who wear the gowns."

Go VOLS!!!

Come on, we can do better than that.
Underneath the Athens sky, where legends often soar,
The Bulldogs of Georgia, they've opened up a score.
Since '95, when Tennessee led the charge,
The tide it did turn, and UGA was large.

In 2000, when the streak broke in Sanford's domain,
The Bulldogs did rise, and the Vols felt the pain.
With a field stormed by fans, in a moment so sweet,
UGA's victory was quite the treat.

They've danced on the checkerboard, they've howled in the night,
With victories piling, they've proven their might.
Twelve of the last fourteen, no small feat to ignore,
When Georgia plays Tennessee, they've evened the score.

Now, with titles in hand, two national crowns,
They've shown to the world, they're the ones who wear the gowns.
From Bama to TCU, their dominance did gleam,
In this age of Bulldogs, it's UGA who reign supreme
Hah! Y’all wear gowns.

Great to see you here, Fade!

I know we're supposed to be this high flying tempo offense but my grandparents lived in Pittsburgh and I grew up watching the Steelers and Browns beat the hell out of each other in games that would wind up 13-10 or something like that. So I'm looking forward to this weekend 😄
I live in Pittsburgh (grew up in Knoxville) and am married to a Steeler girl. She’s laughed at me complaining about the Vols this season saying welcome to being a steeler fan.

Nice to see you stopping by, @Fadeproof

These young whippersnappers don't know that you are about as OG as they come.

Fade was posting with us before many of y'all were even born. He's also the most agreeable rival poster that I know.

But, alas, he's a Dawg. So up his and may UGA lose by fiddy.

GBO
Kiddiedoc, I appreciate you. Still in your debt for helping out with my little brother. Just saw him and mom and they are already talking trash. Up yours brother and GO Dawgs!

With all due respect, you are one of the few dawg fans I’ve engaged w/ that recall the days of Ray Goff and others. I miss those days.
Us old heads have to stick together. I do not miss those days. Goff and Donnan contributed to early onset baldness.

But dreams turn to nightmares ‘neath Sanford’s bright glow,
The Vols light it up, and the Dawgs eat crow.
The checkerboard’s calling, the Dawgs look so giddy,
But Tennessee rolls in - Vols by fiddy!

I truly appreciate the old Dawgs as they are some of the most neighborly fans, but with winning comes the young punks and it’s high time we give them something to remember for the next time they think it’s cute to disrespect the Volunteers in Neyland (last year was insufferable).

You dun went and got old RDU. The Goff and Donnan years were good to us Vols. Then that dang Richt came along and messed it all up with his stupid QB. I was at that first Richt win. It was actually an awesome football game, I just wasn’t used to being on the wrong side of Georgia games. It wasn’t Fulmer’s fault or Chavis’s fault. It was actually Travis Stephens’s fault. He should have scored more slowly.

Georgia is red
Smokey is blue
Uga sucks
And so do you.

I’m smart just like ole Billy Shakespeare.

Home field will be an advantage if the crowd shows up. Weather calls for rain which I think helps you all in more ways than with just the crowd. Kirby will have them ready but I'm not sure if we are the same caliber team with so many injuries. Our OL, RB's, and WR's have been decimated with injuries. Going to be a good one for sure.
I think Beck is toast in his head and doesn't seem to be the leader a 2nd year QB should be. Maybe some team strife. And he's costing too much NIL to make the move on Stockton. Normally a game at GA is a just play them well situation and hope not to get pummeled. This ain't that GA team, and not because of injuries. I think this game is just waiting to see which side of the fence to fall on. although I do feel fairly good about a UT road win in a difficult stadium. IMO, any early and sustained pressure on the GA OL and Beck, and he will falter more than once. This game is all about Banks and what level he has his D playing.

I agree. I think is a slugfest. I think the team with the best OL performance wins it. Neither team moves the ball without protecting the QB. And Im not sure if your describing your qb or ours because the resemblance is uncanny.
Ours because he's a freshman that still hasn't found the light switch.

Yours because his biscuits are way overbaked for a SR.

Thank you for your post. I think this game could go either way. I think it's going to be closer than Vegas is projecting. One one hand, GA looks beatable and I'm wondering how the loss of Etienne will affect the running game for GA. Beck has been inconsistent but so has Iamaleava. On paper I think GA is the more talented team. Is our QB even going to play? His "questionable" status is puzzling. He had a good game where our WRs dropped several key passes. Then he had a game where WR were open all day and he couldn't hit them. I think it all depends on which team is going to have their better day. It might come down to TO ratio and a few big plays. I think I feel a lot like you...excited but not too confident! 🤣
On paper?

In reality we have better RB's with or without Etienne in their lineup. We have better DB's. Better DL, better EDGE, better OL. The only advantage for GA in this game is Athens. This is not Kirby's finest product. Not even close. Any turnover margin that favors us will likely decide this game.

Most UGA fans would scoff at us having a chance to beat them, much less in Athens. Seems to be alot of fan concern on their part this weekend.

Hey Vol Nation,

Just wanted to swing by and wish y'all safe travels for the journey tomorrow. Here's hoping for a hard-fought, injury-free game. I'll be honest, I'm nervous as all get out – it's practically a playoff elimination game, and both teams are feeling the pressure. Beck isn't exactly setting the field on fire lately, and we're not riding the same wave of confidence we've had in recent years. But hey, that's what makes this game great, right? How are ya'll feeling about this one?

Looking forward to eating my weight in food and drinking enough bourbon to calm my nerves. Go Dawgs!
Great post, I gave away two tickets simply because I'm too old and too grumpy to sit there and be barked at. I will say, if I was sitting next to a level headed, Dawg fan (human being) like yourself I would have enjoyed going to the game. Coach Heupel has done a tremendous job getting Tennessee back to competing for championships, the next step is proving he can beat a championship caliber team on the road. Here is to hoping Saturday he takes that step.

Go Vols!

This is an elimination game for UGA with 2 losses already, not necessarily for Tennessee with 1. That narrative going around is wrong. We don’t have the same pressure.

If Tennessee loses, we would then have the same record as UGA and Bama. All of us would have beaten each other and all would be vying for a playoff spot.

I agree with an earlier poster about it coming down to the O lines. Both have had struggles in protecting the QB at times. Just saw an interesting stat. In UT’s 9 games, only 2 opposing QB’s have finished the game. Milroe and MS State’s. That’s where I think the game will hinge.

Just in case anyone barks at me as I travel to Athens. I stopped by Petsmart before my journey to bring treats. I have milk bones and pig ears. I’m also more than will to give head scratches and belly rubs to the attractive female Georgia fans.
