Why is that a surprise? He said he meant to throw a damn ball at him. This is somewhat a surprise.Astros' Abreu suspended 2 games by MLB, which says he intentionally threw at García
Houston Astros pitcher Bryan Abreu was suspended for two games and fined Saturday by MLB, which said he intentionally threw at Adolis García.apnews.com
You misread that. MLB said he intentionally threw the ball at him. He denied it immediately, Maldonado was immediately denying it was intentional. Baker lost his living ish. No admission whatsoever. Why is that a surprise? He said he meant to throw a damn ball at him.
I think the only way he should have been suspended is if they gave a warning beforehand. I know there is some history between these two from the regular season but it’s hard to justify a suspension whenever there wasn’t a warning handed out.You misread that. Didn’t make any sense. Why, down two, no outs, would you hit someone with a baseball, to put a runner in scoring position? Hmmm?
Those circumstances apparently weren’t considered. That was his first pitch. They had just relieved Verlander. What was fresh on their mind was Garcia’s bitch ass home run waltz. Subconsciously, it offended the umpires and realized things were getting chippy. DEFCON alert!
Possibly intentional? Sure. Old school catcher? Yep. Old school manager? Yep. Astros? Guilty.
Did you see Altuve’s home run trot. No bat flip, ran the bases, didn’t stomp on home plate, jogged to the dugout before starting his celebration with his team mates. The way I was taught it should be done.
Set me straight here, VP.
