Fans seem to forget this isn't college sports anymore for athletes, it's a business.
So bashing Aidoo and Awaka and even Mashack is childish on fans behalfs.

Just wondering how many of us would turn down a large sum of money to switch schools? I would be first in line looking for highest bidder.

The days of VFL are going to be far and few anymore, enjoy the past because we're going to need a bingo card to keep up with the comings and goings now and forward .
I’m cool with them coming and going as long as they steer clear of saying things like “I bleed orange” or something within that realm. You can’t say things like that and then leave for more money. Because then people are going to question your integrity and ask “Well which is it? Do you bleed orange or are you just in it for the money?” You can’t have it both ways if you want people to respect you as a person.

We're talking about 17-22 year old young Men and Women.

Don't think at that age they really care about respect, it's more about what can you do for me.

But in future the VFL will be Baseball and Softball.

You can forget about loyalty in basketball and football.

Me personally, I would much rather earn a modest living and have the respect of everyone I encounter rather than selling out for the top dollar. Sometimes more money doesn’t always equal more happiness. I’ve taken a job opportunity before that made quite a bit more money than I was making before but I was nowhere near as happy as I was at the previous place. Yeah it makes things easier financially but do you really enjoy where you are at and the coach (or boss for us common folk) that you are playing/working for? Do you want to make a little more money elsewhere or do you want to make a comfortable living and be truly happy where you are at? But that’s just me. I guess it’s all about how you were raised and what your internal priorities are.

Remember that these kids were typically the best player on every team that they have played on up until college. They are used to be on the field or court. It is difficult for some to accept riding the pine even if it is shared time. If they can get more playing time and make a little more or equal NIL money, then that is most like what makes them happy. Just my 2 cents.

I tell you what makes me happy: winning. Grass isn’t always greener.

With the chaos that is about to ensue idk how college players can legitimately think they will make quality money off their signatures if they are jumping around unless you are an elite athlete that can come in like Knecht for one season. Otherwise, fans are only going to want signatures from athletes that have built some roots. Soon these donors/companies are not going to get a good return, especially if said athlete flounders on the court/field. Just a thought.

Somebody in the basketball forum posted thoughts on the portal, kinda how I feel too. Maybe I am not cheering for the players anymore just the jersey. Obviously somebody who stays will have more admiration by the fan base now, more than ever.

I feel the same way. Zakai will be admired for generations but these guys that are jumping ship will only be appreciated while they are here. Knecht showed everyone who he is as a person. Who apologizes for not being here for 4 years? Wasn’t his fault but man that tells me all I need to know about a guy to apologize for something he had no control over. It’s honestly quite sad what collegiate sports has become. Unless they get some structure on this thing it is going to spiral out of control and there will be no turning back.

True, & it's just going to get worse. Bye, boyz.

I’m not going to bash a player on here and you guys know that. But I don’t like what is happening with college sports and I’m not going to pretend that I do.
