Can't blame hitting on Manager.I just can’t wrap my head around the Braves offense this year. Acuña, Olson, and Harris all slugging under .400. Arcia and Albies not far behind at .403 and .413. It’s a complete shell of itself last year. Jurickson Profar has a higher slugging percentage than everyone on the Braves team outside of Ozuna. It’s a problem…
No but I can blame him for running Riley out there and making him miss 2 weeks whenever he could have just sat out 1 week. Or he refused to push Ozuna up the lineup until Riley was injured. And he refuses to switch up the lineup at all outside of that. Slide some guys around. Do something, anything other than sit on your ass and watch the game pass you by.Can't blame hitting on Manager.
Bobby Cox did the same thing..No but I can blame him for running Riley out there and making him miss 2 weeks whenever he could have just sat out 1 week. And you keep saying I’m after the football team. I love the football team but I’m not naive enough to think a star football player is willing to get paid as much as a rower. The amount of money football brings in compared to all the other sports combined is laughable. The football players should get paid more because they bring in the majority of the money. I’m just telling you that everyone getting paid equally is a pipe dream and is never going to happen.
I agree, I wouldn’t give a HS kid that much money, but this transfer portal cycle in basketball has seen kids making $1M-$2M. And that’s for guys that I wouldn’t consider “star players” necessarily. As long as money is involved it will always be a bidding war unfortunately. The AD/schools are going to have to pick and choose who is worth what. Maybe they hire someone that’s a third party that gives each kid a certain valuation and that’s how they do it. I don’t really know what the answer is because I really do wish they were all paid the same, it’s just not going to go down that way unfortunately. My only beef, and I ain’t trying to stir the pot…Star player. Lots of players are star players in HS. There’s no guarantee, a million is a lot for someone who hasn’t played a snap, thrown a pitch, taken a shot in a collegiate game.
I want the kids to share in the revenue, public appearances, signings at sports stores, car lots, etc…but it seems like it’s a bidding war between the haves and the have nots.

And it always seems to be a new rule the NCAA just drops on everyone and they just wipe their hands of it and say “figure it out yourself”. It’s always a big mess with them.
