They just want the drama and the clicks. We won’t see them until a super regional, if they are lucky enough to win their regional…D1 Baseball is doing their live “Fielding the 64” cast right now and they have kept Tennessee as the #2 overall seed but have put Wake Forest and Kansas State as our 2 and 3. Talk about a freaking brutal region for the #2 overall seed if that were to happen.
You get potentially zero help as a higher seed because they weight geography way too much. WF being our 2 when just last week they were potentially a host would suck. I have had this sneaking feeling for awhile now though that we are destined to draw WF. I think the Committee in all college sports puts this stuff together with storylines in mind, resumes be damned.

I guess they would have a difficult decision on their hands regarding their pitching. Do you throw Burns out there in Game 1 vs the 3 seed and get the automatic win or do you risk going into an elimination game with Tennessee throwing Burns? Either way I think we would win the regional, even with a loss to Burns. Can’t throw him twice in a regional.Maybe. They aren’t the only outlet I have seen projecting WF. If we did draw them, it would obviously make for a fun and juicy regional, but at some point being one of the highest seeds possible should come with a favorable draw even if you have to ignore geography.
