You want the top 8 to play it out but then you want a team not in the final 8 to be ranked inside the top 8….make up your damn mind man…Hahahahahaa…Wake was not a top 16 seed nor did they make the final 16…you are all over the place


2022 you want the CWS teams to play it out 1-8…but then you want the Vols ranked inside the top 8…so somebody in Omaha is playing for 9th? Lol

Rankings are suppose to be different than your actual finish. Regions are never evenly distributed so it’s more subjective to have to rank teams. And they have stupid rules where you can’t be in the same region as a conference foe or you can’t have two teams in basketball in the top four of a region, so that’s another stupid layer. Paths to a championship are never even due to this. Alabama made a miraculous run to the Final 4 and they got ranked T-3. Does anyone really believe they were one of the 4 best teams last year if you take their season as a whole? Why did NC State finish 10th instead of the top 4? UConn, Purdue, and Houston all finished with a combined one additional loss than Alabama as a single team. Rankings are done by ignorant biased people.

Rankings will always be subjective because that’s how it is but that is ultimately where you end up. You cant compare baseball to an inferior postseason sport like basketball. Basketball is a one and done somewhat crap shoot…while in baseball it’s possible to lose 4 games in the postseason and still be the champion. Add in the extra incentive that the good teams get to play home games until Omaha, then there is very little to gripe about if you are not ranked as high as you should be if you don’t advance.

The Yankees will be playing their main hated rival the Red Sox in Boston.
The Tar Heels playing the Volunteers in what should be a thrilling competitive College World Series game of 2 undefeated teams.

Yep…in baseball being able to sell consistently making it to Omaha matters…outside of that selling title matters…we can currently sell our program to recruits above the likes of South Carolina, UGA and so on…but LSU etc can still sell titles over us…we are getting there though! Maybe in one weeks time!
