Ivan Bedford, my grandfather, was from Maury County. Spent some time in Texas working cattle. Returned to Madison, and built a nice enterprise in property, retired from the Postal Service.

Yes. Bedford was a family name honoring service under NBF. First Grand Wizard.

But…the rest of the story…

I was raised in Oak Ridge. First integrated school district south of the Mason Dixon Line.

Made the cover of Time in 1954. Wasn’t the first time the community influenced World History.
