People think it’s easy to evacuate but, it’s not. Traffic was terrible and people were running out of gas on the interstate. There was also no rooms to be had for hundreds of miles. It’s also hard to up and leave your HOME and not know what will happen or when you may return. Thanks for the well wishes.
Hope you're somewhere that has food & clean water to drink.
It's going to be awhile for a lot of folks to return to comfort.
I saw pictures of the traffic and no telling what kind of horror stories
that will come from that.

I’ve evacuated Houston once. Not sure I’ll ever do it again. I’ve riden out plenty, but I’m thirty miles inland too.

Hello Vols Fans on an exciting Pro Sports Thursday Night.

Currently I’m relaxing at the Good Life Sports Bar and restaurant watching the high stakes playoff games Yankees Royals game 4, Guardians Tigers game 4, and the TNF Game in Seattle that is a struggling 49ers team vs a Seahawks team looking to rebound after getting outplayed by a Giants team that is capable of playing good football.IMG_1549.jpeg

Not when you can die…

Plus, that’s what insurance is for!

That’s what a lot of people say when they have never been through it. I checked 2 days before and there were no rooms to be had without driving for hundreds miles and it was not certain you would be able to find gas. We did have a plan in place to drive about 10 minutes to a family members house that was not built as strong as ours. Once we saw it shift south, we decided we were safer where we were at. Also, if you’re not in a flood zone, flood insurance isn’t required. Regular homeowners will not cover flooding. I do have “hurricane “ coverage but that’s for wind damage, the wind wasn’t our concern. Thanks for understanding.

I feel ya. Been there several times in New Orleans days. Glad you found gas and drove as far as long as needed through the congestion, closed gas stations, and no vacancy signs.
