Don’t want to discredit Bagwell but he didn’t hit .300 from both sides of the plate for his career like Chipper did. The only other player in history with at least 5000 plate appearances to do so was Frankie Frisch, who played until 1937. So not put down other players but no living soul has the experience that Chipper does from both sides of the plate. He can quite literally help any and every batter on this planet. He completely changed Austin Riley’s approach by simply adjusting his eyes and then he magically becomes one of the best third basemen in the game all because Chipper was involved as a part-time hitting consultant.

I wasn’t. I just don’t think he wants to do it full-time. He knows what the daily grind of a season entails. I don’t blame him for not wanting to do it.

I would too. I think there should only be 1 cupcake on the schedule and it should be treated as a preseason tuneup in Week 1.

Phillies already out. Yankees are through to the ALCS. Dodgers and Cleveland are in elimination games for the second straight game. It’s pretty clear that having a week off before you play is more of a punishment than a reward.
