I know I never pandered for them but I knew what the committee would do. They have an assignment given to them. ESPN wants that Alabama-Notre Dame game BAD. It’s a ratings monster. That’s all they care about. It is entertainment after all. Notre Dame-South Carolina doesn’t quite have the same pizzazz. But if we are being objective, the fact that they are ahead of Miami while Ole Miss and South Carolina are behind Miami makes zero sense. It was the same deal the week after we lost to Georgia whenever Alabama was ranked ahead Miami but Georgia and Ole Miss were behind them.
If someone didn’t believe the Alabama bias before these rankings hopefully they understand now. Head to head is criteria will only be used for the benefit of the biggest brands. Hypothetically, if South Carolina had beaten Alabama but lost to Missouri or Vanderbilt, I fully believe Alabama would have gotten in over them. They would say “well Alabama’s best win was Georgia which is number 5 on our list so we think that is more deserving.” They will 100% always shift the argument into Alabama’s favor if they are ever tied with another team.
