Quinn Ewers has $6 million offer to leave Texas, skip NFL draft in brazen NIL overture

Quinn Ewers reportedly has a massive offer on the table to switch schools and stay in college for another year.

On3 Sports reported Tuesday that an unnamed school is making a $6 million pitch to the Texas quarterback to enter the transfer portal and take over behind center.

Ewers, who will start for the Longhorns in the College Football Playoff quarterfinal on New Year’s Day against the Arizona State Sun Devils, would be widely considered one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2025 class should he enter the NFL draft.
What a disgrace college athletics has become. Everyone is a free agent and the Wild West mentality will ruin a great sport if they don’t put some guardrails around NIL and the “unlimited” transfer portal It’s just ridiculous that a current QB in the playoffs attempting to win a NC is mulling over offers to “pay for play” at rival schools.
Ideas for improvement:
1) Make athletes employees.
2) Give them contracts
3) Implement collective bargaining
4) Limit transfers to one (must sit out year for additional transfers unless prove a legitimate hardship)
5) Implement salary caps
6) Limit portal transfers (not JUCO) to no more than 15% of roster.
7) Implement clearinghouse to provide transparency to NIL deals and contracts.

Do you think they will ever change the seeding in the NFL playoffs?

No reason the Bucs, Falcons or Rams should be hosting.

I don’t think they will, wasn’t it just a few years ago that a team with a below .500 record hosted(and maybe even won)?

The NFL doesn’t bother me as much as college.
IMO, there’s not a very big difference between 8-8 and 11-5 in the NFL.

I recall individuals bragging on how much better the SEC is than the Big 10 in football this season.

Well after 4 Bowl games Big Ten is leading 3-1 over SEC.

Michigan beat Big Bad Alabama at full strength
Illinois beat South Carolina everyone played
USC beat Texas A&M

Missouri should've lost to Iowa but pulled it out in the end.
