We got those Florida Gators on Saturday. 🤣 Aren't you a happy camper?
It will be the same result until they decide to play even halfway decent offense and play with some damn pride on defense. If this were one of our professional teams we would be calling them lazy bums but since they are college “kids” they think they can get off the hook. Sorry but it doesn’t work that way. If you want the money you gotta take the smoke too.

Relax. Baseball season is right around the corner.
Luckily that sport hasn’t been infected like basketball and football with the huge dollars. It will come soon enough though. I hope I’m wrong but I just don’t like the direction college sports are headed.

Sounds like you need a strong drink or two just to get through this.

More talent is what Barnes needs to concentrate on for the future.
He went and got talent. It’s actually a more talented team than last year. Talent doesn’t always mean success. What we don’t need is little biatches quitting in the middle of the season like Cameron Carr to take more money elsewhere so we don’t have someone like Zakai having to play every single minute of every single game.

You tell'em. I'm sure they're listening.

Truly believe if ZZ gets a 5th year CRB will return next season but if ZZ moves on its 50/50 on whether CRB returns.

I just don't think Rick is enjoying this NIL and portal vs..
I don’t think any coach is enjoying this era. It’s gotta be the most exhausting thing in the world. I couldn’t imagine having to worry about all that nonsense. Makes you not even want to coach. If they wanted to deal with a revolving door as a roster and free agency they would be coaching in the NBA. I wouldn’t blame him one bit.

Any assistant coaches Barnes has that's worthy to be promoted to the HC position?

I know Gainey is the associate head coach but I would probably look at assistant coach Bryan Lentz as the diamond in the rough on this staff. He was on Barnes Texas staff all the way back in 2010 and was director of player development at Tennessee from 2018-24 before being promoted to assistant coach this season. So he’s seen the development of all these great players that Barnes has brought along and been around Barnes the longest to possibly have success. Other than that idk if would entertain giving anyone else on staff a look. Probably would end up looking outside of this staff for the next head coach.

Polinsky?

Pretty sure he will turn 67 years old in a couple months. He might retire right alongside Barnes. Danny White will want to hire a young coach that is too naive and hasn’t been worn down by this era already.

Makes sense. Naive or willing? The positions Campbell and Caldwell are holding down will become critical moving forward.

Any person becoming a head coach for the first time in this environment is naive. They used to say being a head coach took an extra 10 years off your life. Now it’s probably 20. That’s pretty sad that it’s become twice as healthy to be a smoker than it is to be a college head coach.
