“We’re thrilled to bring back the Caribbean Series to MLB Network, as this is a must-see international event filled with passion, intensity and highly skilled play,” said Bill Morningstar, President of MLB Network. “Showcasing this wonderful tournament further exemplifies how committed we are to displaying how rich and cherished our game is all over the globe, including in Latin America and Asia. Many MLB legends have played in the Caribbean Series throughout its history, so we view this as a perfect way to get baseball fans excited for the upcoming season ahead.”
Scheduled to call the action across the tournament will be Craig Minervini and Doug Wright on play-by-play alongside former players and analysts Rod Allen and Jeff Nelson. Minervini, Allen and Nelson all contribute to Miami Marlins broadcasts on FanDuel Sports Network Florida. Wright, a veteran television host, will return to call Caribbean Series action for the second consecutive year. MLB Network’s coverage of the 2025 Caribbean Series will only be available to viewers in the United States. In 2023, the Miami Marlins, who hosted the Caribbean Series in 2024 and will do so again in 2028, and Caribbean Professional Baseball Confederation announced a multi-year exclusive partnership for the broadcast rights of the Caribbean Series.
The 2024 Caribbean Series at loanDepot park marked the first time the tournament had been played at a Major League Stadium. Tiburones de la Guaira (Venezuela) won their first-ever tournament Championship by defeating the Tigres del Licey (Dominican Republic) in a 3-0 game. 36,677 attended the Championship game at loanDepot park, the largest single-game attendance in Caribbean Series history. In total, the Marlins and loanDepot park hosted 340,325 fans across the 2024 Caribbean Series, setting a new record for the highest total attendance in tournament history and surpassing the 2023 total by nearly 100,000. The 2026 Caribbean Series will be played in San Juan, Puerto Rico, followed by the 2027 edition in Hermosillo, Mexico. Starting in 1949, many Hall of Famers and MLB All-Stars have played in the Caribbean Series, including Rod Carew, Miguel Cabrera, Roberto Clemente, Edgar Martínez, David Ortiz and Iván Rodríguez.
In addition to the Caribbean Series, MLB Network has aired many international events over the course of its 15-year history, including the 2009, 2013 and 2017 World Baseball Classic. MLB Network has also aired the 2011 MLB Taiwan All-Star Series, 2012 Australian League Championship Series, 2013 Australian League Championship Series, 2014 MLB Japan All-Star Series, 2015 La Serie de las Americas, 2016 Australian League Championship Series, 2018 MLB Japan All-Star Series and 2024 Choque de Gigantes.
